Well, is Carlos the Best guitarist the rock world has ever produced? No. But the guy has chops and is certainly inspired when he plays. He's produced many fine songs, although admittedly he's produced a few too many redundant "instrumentals". Nevertheless, to those who rock n' roll, he deserves a little respect. Those who don't, go pound sand.

p.s. I blame Zappa for most of the Carlos bashing. And who hasn't Zappa bashed?

Ok- go listen to any of the Devadip Carlos Santana & Mahavishnu John McLaughlin collaborations that you naysayin' clowns never bought or had the attention span to listen to. Then you can get back to us.

Good point. If the passion comes through, it's still good art.
However, it can get boring.
Also, Jackson Pollack and Philip Glass were both original, groundbreaking and influential pioneers of style in what they created. I would not say that about Santana.

Never seen the Love Boat? Get thee to Netflicks and Gopherize yourself before it's too late. Doc will take your temp and I'm sure Isaac has a nice Pina Colada waiting. Watch out for Julie, though, she's the Lindsay Lohan of the 80s (or was that the 70s?)
And this song still reminds me of 8th grade dances, along with Free Bird and Stairway to Heaven. Wait, I have something stuck in my braces...
