| sajitjacob (Christchurch NZ) | Posted: Aug 22, 2012 - 20:20 Is it me or does it all go a bit Bhangra in the middle there? |
| sajitjacob (Christchurch NZ) | Posted: Aug 22, 2012 - 20:18 I like this tune and the playing, even so jhorton wrote: Before every show: Stage Manager Guy: " Dave, grab your guitar, it's time to go on." Dave: " I play guitar?" |
| expatlar (Michoacan, Mexico) | Posted: Apr 18, 2012 - 10:16 I'd like to see anyone who thinks David Lindley can't play guitar sit down for a little one on one jam session with him. Most "players" couldn't keep up. |
| jhorton | Posted: Mar 17, 2012 - 18:13 Before every show: Stage Manager Guy: " Dave, grab your guitar, it's time to go on." Dave: " I play guitar?" |
| ABPainter | Posted: Mar 17, 2012 - 18:11 I was at that show! There's no one like David Lindley! karljonasson wrote: Just saw David live in Edmonton a few weeks ago. He was bitchen. Lots of jamming on obscure stringed instruments - just him, no band. Played a couple of Warren Zevon tunes, (Vast Indifference of Heaven & Seminole Bingo) which made me happy. Go see him! |

Je suis desolé pour mes erreurs linguistiques - je n' ai pas beaucoups de chances de parler le Français a Nottingham :( |

Oh, geez - I have GOT to save up my pennies for that one! Life is finite, and by golly, Jackson Browne/David Lindley is one show I want to see before I die. (I already got to see Warren Zevon, thank goodness.) Love this song - some very nasty slide work goin' on... ![]() |

| WonderLizard (2,755.46 mi. due east of Paradise) | Posted: Nov 30, 2010 - 09:30 No matter how down you get, no matter how far up everything looks...a little David Lindley, and all's right with the world. |
| fredriley (Nottingham, UK) | Posted: Nov 30, 2010 - 09:27 Is this really how the cajuns spell "bons temps roulée"? And how on earth can a recording be an "official bootleg" - shurely shome oxymoron? The noun/verb 'bootleg' comes from smuggling days and the whole essence of bootlegging is illegality - see the Chambers definition. |
| Cynaera (South of Neanderthal) | Posted: Apr 21, 2010 - 14:30 David Lindley is one of the most under-rated, over-talented instrumentalists ever. I think he, Lindsey Buckingham, and Leo Kottke are three of my favorite eclectic guitarists. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| robca (vancouver) | Posted: Jul 07, 2002 - 11:40 I wholeheartedly agree about his live shows - he's always got the best musicians and Lindley is definitely one unique character. I carried out the rider on his contract for a gig he did many, many moons ago. It was a very, very cold night in a very, very lonely prairie town. They were great guys, if a little freaked out by -30 windchills. I remember one poignant conversation they had at dinner - they were deriding the state of music journalism - 'those guys don't know what they're talking about', one said. Lindley's comment was that they (music mags) all hire students with no music experience. Of course at the time I was writing a music column for the student paper - that conversation really struck a chord. I haven't written any music stuff since. Thanks for the reality check David. |
| ZM/Herb (Orlando, FL) | Posted: Jun 27, 2002 - 05:37 GREAT STUFF :D :D |
