![]() Keb Mo (1994) [ larger cover art ] |
When the music starts to playin
She slides out on the floor
Dancing without a partner
Swaying on the two and four
There's a rythym in her footsteps
And a flower in her hair
A smile on her face
Cause she's in a place
Where she don't have a care
She ain't looking for no lover
She ain't looking for a romance
She just wants to dance
She just wants to dance
Yeah she just wants to dance
Ooo she just wants to dance
Well she's moving kinda lazy
And it's obvious to me
This little girl ain't crazy
She's as wild as she is free
She can feel it in her fingers
And it moves on down her spine
And when it hits her hips
She parts her lips
And you know she's feeling fine
She ain't looking for no lover
She ain't looking for a romance
She just wants to dance
She just wants to dance
Yeah she just wants to dance
She just wants to dance
Oh go on get it girl
She ain't looking for no lover
She ain't looking for a romance
She just wants to dance
She just wants to dance
Get out the way and let the girl dance
Yeah she just wants to dance
Yeah she just wants to
Slide along the floor
She wanna shuffle her shoes and shake her hips
She wanna wave her hands in the air
She wanna shake that hanky
Yeah
But she don't want no hanky panky
Yeah she just wants to dance
Leave her alone
And let her dance

| bellhog | Posted: Nov 04, 2009 - 15:58 Nothing against Keb Mo, but just once I would like a songwriter to use a rhyme with "dance" other than "romance." Glance? Prance? King of France? White cotton underpants? Anything? |

| iscoot4peace | Posted: Sep 02, 2009 - 14:13 When the last of the old guard blues singers slip this mortail coil...this is what we will be left with. Keb is a good enough musician...but he sure ain't no Lightnin' Hopkins. |

| rKokon (MD) | Posted: Mar 19, 2007 - 06:42 The whole set, including Keb Mo, exemplifies "Songs That Talk About Dancing But Make You Want To Slump Instead" . . . If you are going to repeat lyrics ad nauseam, at least make them worthwhile. |
| bronorb (Wisconsin) | Posted: Mar 19, 2007 - 06:41 Saw Keb in Chicago about 11 years ago and I was amazed. Truthfully, I think he sounds much better when it is just him and the guitar. Adding the piano, bass, and drums just take away from his singing and playing. My 2 cents. |
| madaxeman (Scottish west coast) | Posted: Feb 01, 2007 - 02:06 This guy's a star,and he isn't even trying to be one.He's a music lover and it just shines through. |

| go_ski_mully (lakeside n Muskoka) | Posted: Jan 17, 2007 - 11:06 Mr. Keb Mo is only of the most talented Blues Artists I have had the pleasure of seeing play ...and did I mention he's awfully damn cool too ...guess the blues and being cool kinda go hand in hand, eh? |
| Bad_Art | Posted: Jan 17, 2007 - 11:04 My office chair must be possesed!! Oh, wait no. It's this other worldly, tastey music. |

| algrif (Slightly west of Zero) | Posted: Mar 31, 2006 - 05:53 It was really nice to hear a live interview along with some live studio songs from Keb Mo on the Paul Jones Blues show on BBC radio some time back. Check his program out some time www.bbc.co.uk click on radio player to see show listings and listen in. |
| Old_Pat (Belgium) | Posted: Mar 16, 2006 - 12:12 I think from his first CD entitled "Keb Mo". The entire CD is superb - one of the few jewels I've found in the last couple years. One of my most-played kitchen CDs - music to keep things going while cooking. |

| rixtar99 (The O.C.) | Posted: Jan 16, 2006 - 18:06 I met this guy years ago when he went by Kevin Moore. He played guitar for a bar band I went to hear many times. I even had breakfast with him. Not that any of you care, but I thought it was cool. This is the wrong cd listing. It's from his debut self titled cd not Keep It Simple. |
| ParadiseStew (Los Angeles, CA) | Posted: Jan 16, 2006 - 18:03 Keb' Mo' is such an amazing artist and I'd love hearing more of him on RP! His first three or four albums are some of his best work, heavily influenced by Robert Johnson (not only the music but the look too). Compare some of Keb' Mo's album covers to some of the old Robert Johnson records. Kevin definitlely belongs on Radio Paradise! |
| mikedill (Chicago, IL) | Posted: Oct 06, 2005 - 14:33 Took a friend who'd never heard of Keb Mo to a show at the HOB in Chicago last year. He was so blown away that he stopped at Borders the next day and bought 4 of his cds. If you haven't seen this guy live... what are you waiting for?? |
| bbching (Midland, Texas) | Posted: Jul 09, 2005 - 18:46 A Keb Mo piece of trivia -- His real name is Kevin Moore - when he first entered the music scene, his sound was a lot more jazz with a touch of R&B. |
| LPCity (Salt Lake City, Utah) | Posted: Jun 10, 2005 - 12:18 Great song! If you ever get the chance, check out Keb Mo in concert. I saw him two summers ago. At first I was disappointed because it was obvious from seeing the stage that it was going to be just him, not a full band. All that changed once he came on and started playing. Just simple clean guitar playing and that great voice of his. He puts out a real easy going, good time vibe with his songs and his story telling. A true singer/songwriter. |
| Vogelfrei (Western Montana) | Posted: May 26, 2005 - 16:10 Most straightforward rock-n-blues fails to appeal to me, but I can't help but enjoy Keb Mo. I don't know if it's his voice, or something less tangible, but he makes everything enjoyable. |
