I find you in the morning
After dreams of distant signs
You pour yourself over me
Like the sun through the blinds
You lift me up
And get me out
Keep me walking
But never shout
Hold the secret close
I hear you say
You know the way
It throws about
It takes you in
And spits you out
It spits you out
When you desire
To conquer it
To feel you're higher
To follow it
You must be clean
With mistakes
That you do mean
Move the heart
Switch the pace
Look for what seems out of place
On and on it goes
Calling like a distant wind
Through the zero hour we'll walk
Cut the thick and break the thin
No sound to break no moment clear
When all the doubts are crystal clear
Crashing hard into the secret wind
You know the way
It twists and turns
Changing colour
Spinning yarns
You know the way
It leaves you dry
It cuts you up
And takes you high
You know the way
It's painted gold
Is it honey
Is it cold
You know the way
It throws about
It takes you in
And spits you out
You know the way
It throws about
It takes you in
And spits you out
It spits you out
When you desire
To conquer it
To feel you're higher
To follow it
You must be clean
With mistakes
That you do mean
Move the heart
Switch the pace
Look for what
Seems out of place
It's o.k.
It goes this way
The line it twists
It twists away
Cuts you up
and spits you out
Keeps you walking
But never shout.

| sajitjacob (Christchurch NZ) | Posted: May 27, 2012 - 22:05 My first car (back in blighty) was an X1/9 (which made a disastrous exit from the US), it was madder than a bag of cats; I span it more than once and absolutely loved it. Teeny tiny 'b' roads + teeny tiny roller skate you sit in + summer = F U N. I still love the teeny tiny revvy basteard fiats, I wish I had a 500 Abarth, they are absurdly expensive in NZ. Like most Italian machinery love affairs it defies logic, you either hate it or you love it. My first bike was a Ducati and I absolutely hated that. Byronape wrote: Were there any non-crappy Fiat's? | Thin_Air | Posted: May 19, 2012 - 08:10 Did this one live in Madrid last October but semi accoustically having 5 minutes previously had a good old bust up with his bass player in front of all and sundry (never to be seen again!) - great showman, grossly under rated imho - would love to hear his latest stuff on here too if possible. Love how he has kept going keeping some of his original feistiness together with some great tunes. I think his supreme self confidence/arrogance is great too - he's good and he knows it and why not! |

Very good track. I would have enjoyed it back in the day. I really lost out being in commercial radio Hell where the only thing I could get was the crappy adult contemporary station, the crappy safe-for-work easy listening station, and the crappy rock station that played mostly 80's hair metal. Curse you small college town! I won't mock you. My little town down in Western Kentucky could only get whatever big city music that occasionally spilled over into the atmosphere because of electrical storms. So I feel your pain. This dude was with a band called Bauhaus that were the "Beatles" of Goth music, Murphy being the John Lennon—type figure in that instance. I suppose that would make Robert Smith and The Cure the "Ray Davies" and "The Kinks" (respectively) of the Goth movement. But I digress... If you like this, the '80s alternative music archive is your oyster. I wish I had music that great left to discover. Bon champs. |

The term "emo" was coined by late eighties and early nineties post-hardcore bands in DC, if I remember correctly. And what we call "emo" now (sour, distasteful look on face), has almost nothing to do with even that post-HC DC music. It was a lot closer to the grunge music that came a few years later. And yes - that soul-less music industry manufactured shlock that's called emo now? It sucks. It sucks bad. Fugazi is the original emo. Peter Murphy is not. |

| Cynaera (Kenneth's Frequency) | Posted: Aug 04, 2011 - 12:35 Stingray wrote: LOL ...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bank-witchcraft in Salem ruins the planet! WHAT is WRONG with you? I'd been paying my house payments for over twelve years, so had quite a lot of equity built up. I had NO idea about a refinance until a friend mentioned it. The interest rate was three points lower than what I'd currently been paying, so the refi actually dropped my house payment by two hundred bucks and allowed me to get enough cash back to fix up my house. It needed a new roof and rain-gutters (had a leak in the roof that dripped right onto the stove, and living in Oregon, it rained pretty much eleven months of the year), and several places in the floor were sinking. It had oil heat, which was expensive, so the refinance allowed me to convert from oil to natural gas, get a fireplace, and get rid of that big ol' herkin' oil tank that was buried at the side of the house and contaminating the ground. Besides - the economy was a LOT more stable then. I'm not about to condemn the avenue by which I was able to pull things back together and ultimately sell the house for exactly what I needed. I can't WAIT until you get past puberty. Or someone duct-tapes your wrists to the arms of your computer chair. |
