I will never forget the first time I saw the Talking Heads on SNL, the did Take Me To The River,  I was hooked.  I highly reccomend the concert video where Byren opens with Pscho Killer, so cool.

Hard to believe how innovative these guys were in 1980 or so. I remember a friend running into the house jumping with excitement waving this album above his head - he was so excited to play us what he had just discovered. It was a huge party.

Saw him on Colbert last night with St.Vincent. They did a really good new tune. Remarkable that this white haired old man who looks not that much different from me sounded so exactly like he did in the Talking Heads days. I don't know what I expected but it was really good. I played it over about 4 times on my DVR, something I never do with performances.

SUCH a perfect song except it always annoyed me that Byrne clips the last word off of each line in the chorus, such as "ground". Why didn't he just record vocal tracks for the lines separately so he didn't have to cut the word short to get a breath before the next line? It is a studio album after all, and an elaborately recorded one. I always wondered about that decision.
