One of my favorite Zep tunes. Ahh...I appreciate this band more as I grow old. Just will never hear this true music ever again in the mainstream.

Ah, the Zenith of Zeppelin! What a great description. For some reason this song has passed me by. Thanks to RP for playing it!

I've always wondered what this song would sound like with a proper strings section.

Another example of the diversity of Zeppelin's catalog. Such varied textures. For those who hate the band because of "Stairway" don't let it blind you to the abundant musical goodness that can be found here.

This song was a great interlude during their movie "The Song Remains the Same"

I recall a giant spliff being passed in the theater.

My favourite LZ Album. LZ I is a close second. Beautiful song and builds into Jimmy's power chords with the keyboards tingling in background.

I've been looking for a good, reliable recounting of how the band originally formed. Stephen Davis's Hammer of the Gods was recommended, but it lands somewhere between hagiography and bombast—and I've since learned its factual accuracy has been fairly discredited by Plant, Page, and Jones. Can anyone recommend a good book? Or even a web site?

For that to happen you need to have another WWII, and another post-war generation of British kids heavely influnced by American blues music.

So...Probably not.

Kind of interesting to see this credited to Page/Plant, when there is so much John Paul Jones in the mix. The orchestration should have been worth a couple of points. I know how the songwriter "formula" (for lack of a better word) goes, but without that contribution from Jones, this song would not have the same impact.

Just sayin'...

The next album, Physical Graffiti, fixed that.  Plant said the album was designed to showcase JPJ's keyboards, and he is credited on a number of songs.
