| Carl (The Summit City) | Posted: Apr 25, 2010 - 16:39 This is curious ... I never heard this song before and yet I have it rated a "10." Even if I'd heard it, I probably would give it a 7 or maybe 8. And when I checked my song ratings, it isn't there! Could Bill & Rebecca's site have been hacked or something? |

| top20 (Felixstowe (England)) | Posted: May 13, 2009 - 13:04 I guess Josh Joplin's family must be keen RP listeners - well how else can you explain 5 people giving this a 10? Surely 10 is for something really outstanding ... ie not this. |
| zaknafein (Kansas City, MO) | Posted: May 13, 2009 - 12:59 I never have seen the REM comparison. Good album, haven't listened to it in a while though. |

During the choruses I agree. Not so much during the spoken verse parts. |

I bounce between liking and disliking the song from one note to the next. Overall, I give it a 6. |

| MojoJojo (Indianapolis, IN USA) | Posted: Oct 06, 2006 - 08:14 Before and between choruses it sounds nothing like Michael Stipe. On the choruses it sounds like Michael Stipe. |

Agreed. Gravity is an excellent song. As for the Michael Stipe connection, Josh even begins 'Happy at Last" with the line: "I sound like Mchael Stipe, I dream like Carl Jung and I look just like a show girl who sleeps with her makeup on." Self aware, self depracating, all in all his album shows excellent lyricism. As for sounding like someone else. Hey, that's the voice he was born with! |
| tinkerbelly | Posted: Jun 09, 2005 - 10:07 sounds like REM in a Tijuana nightclub. but i like it. |
| rah | Posted: Jun 09, 2005 - 10:06 oh, wait. yeah. it got there. |
| rah | Posted: Jun 09, 2005 - 10:05 this song is almost not irritating. |
| Drummer4soul (Auburn, CA) | Posted: Apr 26, 2005 - 11:40 We are all one, divided within...undone. Very spiritual. Right on RP! |
| nealcs (Columbus, GA) | Posted: Jul 17, 2003 - 10:04 This is my least favorite Josh Joplin song, but it still deserves a 5. More JJ on RP! |

I don't need Bill, or anyone else to imprint songs on me. Besides, it only ensures that I won't bother to purchase the CD. Nothing worse than buying a new CD, then a short-time later being sick of the decent songs on it. Yay, $20 for a bunch of has-beens and never-weres. This is why I don't own any Useful Music. (anyone want to buy a Lucinda Williams CD?) |
