Scanning at the blue bended headlands
White flurry scudded, a dark silhouette flashes by, in the wet
It is glistening flesh
In the deep marine, in the deep marine
There is room for make believe out in the ocean
There is room for make believe out on the land
In the wet, in the dream, if its flashing then seen
In the deep marine, in the deep marine
Looking to the white framed headland
Green pockets dropping, a bright cockatoo
Circles up in the breeze, in the realm you can't reach
In the deep marine, in the deep marine
There is room for make believe out in the ocean
There is room for make believe out on the land
In the west, crashes by, its a green silhouette
In the deep marine, in the deep marine
No one can make her, no one can break her down
Underwater, over land
No one can make her, no one can break her
Underwater, over land
No one can make her, no one can break her
She is what she is and no one can bring her down, bring her down
Looking to the white framed headland
Green pockets dropping a bright cockatoo
Circles up in the breeze, in the realm you can't reach
In the deep marine, in the deep marine
There is room for make believe out in the ocean
There is room for make believe out on the land
In the wet, flashes by, its a green silhouette
In the deep marine, in the deep marine
No one can make her, no one can break her
Underwater, overland
No one can break her, no one can fake her
She it what she is and no one can bring her down, bring her down
Underwater, overland
No one can squeeze her, no one can freeze her now
No one can make her, no one can break her down
No one can seize her, no one can freeze her
She is what she is and you've got to see it
| Jackson_Feelgood (Australia) | Posted: Mar 28, 2012 - 23:19 The Vocalist from Midnight Oil is Peter Garrett. He is currently a Federal Minister in the Australian Parliament. If you really want to sample some Classic Midnight Oil I suggest one of the very early albums. "Head Injuries " is a stand out ! And if you have never seen Peter dance it is a style that is definately unique. Have a look on the tube. http://youtu.be/4c3X0OlVjuE |

| smg58 | Posted: Mar 31, 2011 - 11:50 Breathe was uneven by their standards, but I did like this one. Also Bring on the Change and E-Beat from this album. |
| math5461 | Posted: Mar 31, 2011 - 11:50 Normally I would agree with you but I think it works with this track. It's sounds like they tuned it that way on purpose. Hippostar wrote: There are ways to get rid of that annoying snare drum ring... |
| burdell (Atlanta, GA) | Posted: Jan 27, 2011 - 18:07 This is Midnight Oil? OK, I officially hate the music industry. Terrific song, I have never heard this before. |
| Alexandra (The Gem City, Ohio) | Posted: Dec 27, 2010 - 09:51 Why did I never hear this before now??? One of their most kickass songs, for sure. (I miss them!) |

Yes!!! But thank you RP for playing more than 'Beds Are Burning' as it is. There's a great video for this song, too. And it sounds to me like Snow Patrol borrowed the bass for 'Shut Your Eyes.' |
| cvandoren (Albany, NY) | Posted: Mar 04, 2008 - 19:47 I thought it was so cool to hear a midnight oil song I didn't know. Deeper tracks - THIS is why I listen to RP! Then I realized that the song was Ho Humm. How dissapointing. |
| zap969 (Columbus, OH) | Posted: Mar 04, 2008 - 19:43 I normally really enjoy Midnight Oil, but I could never get into this album. In my opinion their best album was Earth and Sun and Moon, but it's rarely played. |

This is the late-middle of their career. The early stuff: "Head Injuries", "Place withou A Postcard", "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1" and "Red Sails at Sunset", then "Diesel & Dust, then "Blue Sky Mine"....here's a full discography: (click here) Neil |
