It's nice to see that some singers don't let nasty little things like "words" get in the way of their wailing.
This is a 1.

Strange. I thought the same thing, and I absolutely hate Radiohead, but somehow I like this one.

i think you would be really surprised. I know for sure that they quite often play in Chicago and every year at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. I was clued into them by several friends from all over the country on another band's forum. These guys are awesome, singers, writers, people.

Something about the begining that sounded like Concrete Blonde.

I actually really like this album... I think there are many songs on it that are superior to this one... like those that actually have melodies.

I have to admit that I find her voice quite sexy.

Tortured and whiny is usually bad, but this is so over the top (and *melodic*, I'm looking at you, Tori Amos) that it's good.

This Song Should Not Be Played Out Of Respect for Tom Waits' creativity...

Listen to 'swordfishtrombone' off of the Swordfishtrombone album.

It is the *exact* same melody...

Melodramatic and tortured can be cool if properly executed. I like this one.

seems lilke it is a simple "mood piece". I wonder if it will get old with many replays? and I like it right now.

I'm glad RP introduced me to this band. Their Fairport Diary is one of my favourite songs at the moment and this one is another reason for getting to know them better.
