Treated you like a rusty blade
A throwaway from an open grave
Cut you loose from a chain gang and let you go
And on the day you said it's true
Some love holds, some gets used
Tried to tell you I never knew it could be so sweet
Who could ever be so cruel?
Blame the devil for the things you do
It's such a selfish way to lose
The way you lose these wasted blues
These wasted Blues
Tell me that it's nobody's fault
Nobody's fault but my own
Tell me that it's nobody's fault
Nobody's fault but my own
Tell me that it's nobody's fault
Nobody's fault but my own
Tell me that it's nobody's fault
Nobody's fault but my own
When the moon is a counterfeit
Better find the one that fits
Better find the one that lights the way for you
When the road is full of nails
Garbage pails and darkened jails
And their tongues are full of heartless tales that drain on you
Who would ever notice you?
You fade into a shaded room
It's such a selfish way to lose
The way you lose these wasted blues
These wasted blues
Tell me that it's nobody's fault
Nobody's fault but my own
Tell me that it's nobody's fault
Nobody's fault but my own
Tell me that it's nobody's fault
Nobody's fault but my own
Tell me that it's nobody's fault
Nobody's fault but my own
Tell me that it's nobody's fault
Nobody's fault but my own
Tell me that it's nobody's fault
Nobody's fault but my own

I know what you mean. I think Tom Cruise is a great actor too. One thing that perplexes me more than anything is this group and how they attract the smart, talented people they do. But all religions do that. I am sure they really mean well. As an atheist, if a religious person pressed me hard with the question "OK, fine, then where do we find meaning in life?" then I have no rebuttal - I am a bit of an "existentialist" that way. But it is incumbent on these artists to address the many serious allegations made against the church. |

| Barman (Milan, Italy) | Posted: Jan 07, 2011 - 06:32 12 years ago. Since then, nothing really remarkable - just wasted blues. Whose fault? |
| ziakut (A place with air, water and chocolate.) | Posted: Dec 22, 2010 - 13:06 As I've said before about Beck on another track listing...maturity is a good thing. Sounds like he's mastered it. Yep. |
| On_The_Beach (Vancouver BC, Bud) | Posted: Nov 04, 2010 - 22:45 This and Sea Change are 2 of my fave Beck discs. He's at his best when he's doing this down-tempo melancholy stuff, IMO. I hope his best work is yet to come. |
| helgigermany (Germany) | Posted: Oct 20, 2010 - 03:27 Nice! |
| Zigi (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) | Posted: Sep 18, 2010 - 10:29 Glad that that's over with. It was boring me to death. |

| elderg (in an alternate tuning) | Posted: Jun 30, 2010 - 12:30 ... can be played by tuning guitar to CGCFAC - just like beck's 'round the bend. i think both have a 'lazy river' sort of feel - but the river may be the ganges for one and the mississippi for the other... tuning is like neil young's fav double dropped D but another step lower |
| ddbz (The Midwest) | Posted: Mar 11, 2010 - 11:05 I sometimes over-do-it by trying to listen to an entire Beck album all the way through and I 'beck out'. Individual songs are just amazing. There is nothing he seems not able to do with quality. |
| azdcryan (Sunny Arizona) | Posted: Mar 11, 2010 - 11:02 This song just resonates so strongly to my fragile, flawed, often wrong, and humbled self. |

Its 11:43 pm here in Singapore on a Saturday night and its nice to hear the music from home. I echo that sentiment. In my case it's good to hear the music AT home. Just got back from 8 months in Boston. It's Saturday morning, gotta mug of black-as-pitch coffee, eggs up, and toast. My favorite radio station, favorite place to be and my favorite time of the entire week. |

| mcYammer (Beervana) | Posted: Jan 07, 2010 - 11:46 First listen, the entire CD, the night of the release, lots of wood in the fireplace, absinthe, morphine, giant mended titanium leg up in the air for six months. Breaking it was nobody's fault but my own. |
