Definitely attributed to the wrong album—Satanic's is certainly the Stones' most psychedelic album, which I believe was kind of a response to Sgt. Pepper's. However, Child of the Moon was never on it. As mentioned previously, Child was first released as a B side. Later, it appeared on the compilation More Hot Rocks. Boy, I wish I kept my vinyl of *that*!

The song can also be found on the obscure Decca import No Stone Unturned:

You can still buy a used copy of the vinyl 45 rpm via Amazon, but it may not have that great cover sleeve.

That is correct.  The 45 jacket art even showed the Stones from the rear on the B-side .  Kinda cool at the time.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. It's definitely not on my version (LP) either. This site says it was "Recorded in July & October, 1967. Released as a US B side to the "Jumping Jack Flash" single on May 24, 1968". Sounds about right.

I liked this the first time when it was called "Rain" and The Beatles were singing.

The Stones are just fine but there ain't much they did the Beatles didn't do first (unless you want to count recording a disco album).

This album is pretty much the zenith of their Beatle-copying, ain't it?

One of my favorite of the more obscure Stones tunes. (If an "obscure Stones song" isn't an oxymoron.) But this is NOT on "Their Satanic Majesties." It is from the same time period, but was the "B" side of (I think) "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and later turned up on one of the compilations.

I remember buying the Jumping Jack Flash 45, ummm, a few years ago. This was the B side. Sounded pretty good at the time. I think Charlie Watts was going for a Ringo Starr drumming knockoff here. The record art (sorta like shown on this page) was kinda neat, too. The A side had the front of the guys and the B side had them from the back. FWIW....
