Spent the last year
Rocky Mountain way
Couldn't get much higher
Out to pasture
Think it's safe to say
Time to open fire
And we don't need the ladies
Cryin' 'cause the story's sad
'Cause the Rocky Mountain way
Is better than the way we had
Whoa-oh-oh
Well, he's tellin' us this
And he's tellin' us that
Changes it ev'ry day
Says it doesn't matter
Bases are loaded
And Casey's at bat
Playin' it play-by-play
Time to change the batter
And we don't need the ladies
Cryin' 'cause the story's sad, uh huh
Rocky Mountain way
Is better than the way we had
Yeah-ah-ah

| mutepoint (jumped) | Posted: Apr 26, 2012 - 15:21 Ummmm. No. Heard it eleventy billion times already, 42 thousand last week alone. I'm thinking the playlist could use the slot for something worthier. |
| Seahunt (Parent's Basement) | Posted: Feb 23, 2012 - 05:39 We have a local band (Dirty City) in Annapolis, MD that plays this and other Joe Walsh songs. It is a dad on guitar and his son on drums. His sons friends fill out the rest of the band. Did is in, I would say, his mid to late 50s...and he is bad ass. He kills this song. Gives me a new appreciation for it. |
| Stratocaster (Bermuda) | Posted: Jan 22, 2012 - 13:36 Rated it an "8", but have really heard this song waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many times. But it's a rock classic. I'm conflicted. Strange. |

| mikec09 | Posted: Jan 22, 2012 - 12:35 Diversity in music that includes Joe Walsh - good . . . playing more Radiohead, TMBG and Fleet Foxes - better . . . playing Randy Newman, esp. from "Good Old Boys" days . . . priceless! |

Thanks to Clear Channel, RMW is forever burnt-out. Well, I love Rocky Mountain Way (for reasons listed in another post), but yeah, your choices would be totally wonderful. If I had them in a downloadable format, I'd submit them to RP. If you have them, submit them, okay? I'd LOVE to hear "Meadows," "Time Out," "Turn to Stone,"All Night Laundromat Blues,"... I went back through his stuff, and his earlier work is amazing. Once he found Jesus and tossed the bottle, I feel like his music took a back seat to something I don't understand. I cling to the past, because the present isn't so fun and the future isn't looking too promising, either. |

| Cynaera (South of Neanderthal) | Posted: May 25, 2010 - 21:44 Oh. My. Gawd. This was the first thing I ever heard from Joe Walsh, and at the time, I hated it. (I was young and stupid.) Now, I just crank it up and dance (hey, romeotuma - bet you're dancing, too!) I love it in the middle when he's doing that voice/guitar thing, and then it just vaults into total rockdom. Joe Walsh is an understated guitar genius. He's got a bunch of notches on his gunbelt, but this song, to me, is his biggest notch. ![]() |

| ThePoose | Posted: Jan 19, 2010 - 13:45 Stevie Nicks says Joe is the love of her life. Hey, Stevie, move over: I love Joe too! I have a huge soft spot for hugely talented singer-songwriters who are funny, sardonic, and dark—with a delicious sense of the absurd. To wit: Joe + Warren Zevon + the Bob, etc. Life's been good with them around. |
