I acquired four or five of his songs via my sons' efforts to drag me into the 21st century, and they're all very good and similar to this: a little spacey, nice percussion/rhythm, subdued but skillful guitar, all topped with his distinctive voice.

Couldn't tell you song names, albums, lyrics, or anything like that; the songs were burnt onto a CD with sequence numbers that say "Perry Farrell".

Guess you never listened to much Jane's Addiction...

I actually think he and Mike Scott sound more alike.

I dunno, I kinda like the lyrics.  I can't understand them so I tend to ignore them, but when I went and looked them up, they seemed sweet and upbeat; like a child's description of dawn.  But then, I tend to like childlike music, when it's also, y'know, good.

i just read the Jane's Addiction book "Whores" about the LA music scene and their lives mid-80's on and enjoyed hearing some newer Perry Farrell just to put in perspective.

It is kinda funny how these days even U2 has to try to sound like U2.  Too bad good music just doesn't seem to be popular anymore.

I'm not exactly a fan, but I appreciate the fact that he continues to "evolve" musically, take risks and not worry about what people think, like other greats such as Dylan, Bowie, Neil Young, Tom Waits et al.

I like this, a nice change in sound from his old Jane type stuff. Generally I didn't like most of the Jane stuff, and he seemed like that was all he'd do.

The "sex pot go go dancer" is Perry's wife. Thank god Jane's is back together!

some may like him... some may not... but I found this to be of great interest...

"In December 2001, Farrell risked his life by flying into politically-troubled Sudan with other members of Christian Solidarity International to negotiate the release of Sudanese slaves. Jane's Addiction donated their earning from one concert for the redemption of over 2300 people, who had been enslaved under terrible conditions. Once the redemption agreement was signed, Farrell started up freedom parties at various redemption sites "armed only with a boom box and his legendary voice."

Saw his show at Coachella in '99 which is where I believe he introduced this new sound. Love it.

Very very good and catchy music, but this voice sucks big time.
Can we please have this in an instrumental version?

edit: I think it is a bit of a weak impersonation of the AfroCelt Sound System.
