Going back to California
So many good thing around
Don't want to leave California
The sun seems to never go down
Some people may treat you ugly
Some people beautiful too
That's the way life is all over
Look for the good things for you
California
There's a good place to be
California
That's where I'm feeling so free
California
I'll be back there before long
I'll be back there before long
I'll be back there before long

Live performances of gifted artists run over 3 minutes....and this is in fact a classic from my youth when people played together and listened to each other and let the music evolve...live. The Smiths will be back soon....be patient. |
| lily34 (GTFO) | Posted: Feb 18, 2013 - 11:23 seems like a pretty long song... |

| nagsheadlocal (North Carolina, the new New Jersey) | Posted: Nov 16, 2012 - 10:07 Everyone should go out and buy a John Mayall album to thank him for all the super musicians whose career started with his band. He may not be everyone's cup of tea, but he sure has a sharp eye/ear for talent. |

| rdo (DC) | Posted: Oct 27, 2012 - 18:50 I think of Jazz the same I do as Modern Art. Have a bunch of super rich people and hipsters say something is "good", and then all the wannabes will "like" it too. |

After summer has turned to autumn and winter, you will still be clueless. |

| martinc (Ottawa Canada) | Posted: Apr 21, 2012 - 09:10 The year was 1969 The performers on the album were Mayall on vocals, harmonica, a slide and a Fender Telecaster guitar, a tambourine, and mouth percussion, Jon Mark on acoustic guitar, Steve Thompson on bass, and Johnny Almond on tenor and alto saxophones, flutes, and mouth percussion. All the songs on the album were written or co-written by John Mayall. |

| jjtwister (Vermont) | Posted: Mar 20, 2012 - 16:33 Saw Mayall at Tupelo in White River Junction, Vermont last year. Tupelo is a small acoustically excellent venue holding about 100 people. Up close and cozy. He played California and it was excellent. His backup band...?????lead guitarst played an amazing solo and the bass guitar kinda just stood there and grooved all night until the final song that showcased each players talent.....bass gutarist just blew me away with his moves. |
