Hey now sister won't you come and bless my soul
I been along time comin down the mountainside
You see I fell from a spaceship I was taken for a little ride
And I'd very much like to fall in love with you
If you would if you would I'd like to know
will you think of me when I'm gone?
Sister live a long time I don't want to fight with you
See my head's in a vice and I don't know who I am anymore
And when I wake in the morning and I look through my window
I see sun skies sand sea would you fill your heart with me
If you would, I'd like to know
will you think of me when I'm gone?

| Mandible | Posted: Mar 23, 2009 - 13:33 after a few slow songs....when Bill is playing a depressing line up, my boyfriend and I joke that Bill must be bi-polar and/or is hitting the scotch in his california studio. This playlist is such a time when I wonder, Bill? Are you okay? |
| rtrudeau (Bay Area, California) | Posted: Jul 13, 2008 - 17:42 Sort of a dumbed waaaaay down version of Porcupine Tree .... |
| jumpback | Posted: May 27, 2008 - 09:54 Right... I was a little "gone" indeed! |

All this "it sounds like Pink Floyd" or "it sounds like Alan Parsons" is moot. It sounds like both of them. But particularly Alan Parsons Project because the breathy vocals sound so much like Eric Woolfson, who sang many of APP's songs. |
| DrGonzo | Posted: Feb 07, 2008 - 08:16 actually one of my favorite albums... the whole thing just flows very well together, and just has a great atmosphere/aura to it all. 'tis quite the shame that they broke up. that being said... i'm royally peeved that i was on a work call when this song came on! more Beta Band Bill!! |
| nalgie719 (bowling green, ky) | Posted: Jan 22, 2008 - 11:29 I love these guys, good to hear 'em. I don't think of pink but most of their other big songs don't sound quite like this. |
| morgsy67 (Cape Cod, MA) | Posted: Jan 22, 2008 - 11:26 this tune is spooky cool |

| jpfueler (South o' Ft Worth) | Posted: Oct 04, 2007 - 16:34 You'd think they'd be out of Beta by now. Maybe they are like ICQ? Forever a Beta ap. . . |

Agreed. And like most of what I heard from Alan Parsons Project, this doesn't do a whole heckuva lot for me. |
| 999_99_999 (at the (lily) pad) | Posted: Jan 27, 2007 - 13:04 Bill, that transition from the Devics Lie to me in this was sweet and silky smooth. You're a genius. |

All this "it sounds like Pink Floyd" or "it sounds like Alan Parsons" is moot. It sounds like both of them. Pretty damn cool if you ask me. Well stated. I dig it as well. |

Nice catch! |
| rgrace (Berkeley, CA) | Posted: Sep 13, 2004 - 16:46 Reminds me a bit of earlier Genesis! Particularly the interlocking guitar parts in the hook. Oh yes, it does also remind me of early Floyd - maybe what they would have sounded like if Syd had managed to dry out from all the drugs. |

Yup, it is. When he plays it, though, it cuts right into the middle-to-the-end of the song. |

In the film, High Fidelity, Rob plays a song by the Beta Band "I will now sell five copies of the new EP from the Beta Band".... Anyway, the song on the released soundtrack is "Dry the Rain" and a good song it is, but NOT the song they play in the store in the film. So I was hoping you could tell me the name of the song in the actual scene and what album it's on. Thank you. p.s. I'm going to feel stupid if it turns out to be THIS song, because I was not at my desk when it played, I just saw it in the playlist. dunno, i really thought it was dry the rain... |

| ClueLez (Mexico) | Posted: Aug 20, 2003 - 18:37 Bands usually didnt dare to try to imitate PF. Then Queensryche did Silent Lucidity and there was nothing sacred anymore. Keep trying kids. |
