Jackson Browne & David Lindley - Take It Easy, Live (2006)

Well I'm a-running down the road trying to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine

Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand and take it easy

Well I'm a-standin' on the corner in Winslow, Arizona
With such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me

Come on baby, don't say maybe
I've got to know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win
But we will never be here again
Open up I'm climbin' in to take it easy

Well I'm a-running down the road trying to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover
She's just a little hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I've got to know if your sweet love is gonna save me

You know we got it easy
We oughta take it easy

I don't care what you guys say, this song is awesome. Both versions are awesome. Makes me want to drive somewhere warm and ride around with the top down.

Pedal steel credit goes to someone by the name of Sneaky Pete. Lindley plays on it too, but not slide, as far as I can tell.
pete was also an original flying burrito brother. i love his pedal steel!

I love the banjo work in the Eagles version of this.

But they're both worth having.

Maybe it's because I'm in England but we don't hear this so much, it still makes a great listen!

Truly sick of hearing it, Eagles or Jackson Browne version.

Ahhh...the real way this song should sound. Not the way those damn Eagles f@%@'d it up!

Mediocre performance by a mediocre artist of a mediocre song by an overrated band.

I know he co-wrote this song, but hasn't the world pretty much decided that the Eagles' version is better? It's not sufficiently different to be interesting.

I think he should have left this one alone.
