Very nice... reminds me of Byrne/Talking Heads in a way... Something African in there it seems...

This certainly is an eclectic track... I like it... really cool.

Seems like most people just don't go for the spoken word delivery and would rather hear someone belt out some bad singing instead...

I can't say that I really LIKE the song, but I feel that my listening experience has been heightened by its inclusion. It made me stop and listen because it was so different.

If I hear it too often, however, I'll revise my appreciation for it.

Wow...it's Leonard Cohen with a Fates Warning record skipping in the back back back back (THUD!) ground.

Well... It's not John Trudell or Tom Waits, but for "thinking rap" it's not bad. 8)

hmm, after clicking the link that jbmckee posted, it is John Lurie. This guy is interesting. As you can tell, not your average artist, but I think it fits. I guess that "fitting" here at RP is the question... If you have a chance, pick up the DVD 'Fishing with John', one of my favorite collections of comedy shorts featuring guests like Tom Waits and Dennis Hopper. Basically a parody on those silly fishing shows.

It sounds like John Lurie from The Lounge Lizards... in which case, I don't mind it at all.

This small car is the little import with 13inch wheels in the fast lane having difficulty attaining the speed limit and backing up traffic. Very annoying.
