Maybe it's because the hearing in my left ear is permanently damaged but I never heard the difference between vinyl and a good CD recording. I was so glad to leave annoyance of LPs behind: sun/heat damage, scratches, bad pressings, dust, etc. Gack.

i use to keep a list but too many names of good music on this site, if you register you can rate the songs then check back to the list in 'your ratings' when you've got some free time. much easier :)

I simply copy and paste the information into a TextEdit file. Certainly there's an analog for PCs.

If you listen on a mobile device using the rp app, you can tunemark your favorite songs. Then select a tunemarked song to go straight to iTunes!

I really like Air (my wife loves them big time) and wonder why they didn't work with this singer more often.  But maybe that is a plus in terms of having different sounds.  But the vocals of the boys themselves don't usually appeal to me.

Hard to believe this record is 13 years old already. Seems not so long ago it was released.  And yet it also feels oddly timeless.  If it's not a perfect 10, it is certainly close.

SWEET!
Temp outside is in high 60s and sunny, windows opened letting the house air out, running around cleaning house with drink in hand and this song just LOUD as can be after working two weeks of 90 plus hours.
Days like this are just wonderful!!!!

The cover art is very suited to the music, which is so retro that I honestly thought that it was some group I'd not heard of from the 70s until I read the comments on RP - the CD doesn't have a date of any sort on the insert. It sets you up for what your ears are going to hear. To quote a famous advert on this side of the Pond: it does what it says on the tin :)

I got this CD from a charity shop and it's really, really grown on me, such that I paid proper money for Talkie Walkie, which if anything is better. This pair of grenouilles really have got the retro chill-out sound down to a tee. 9 from the laid-back Nottingham jury (even though we could do with something zippier on a Friday afternoon).

Zero 7? Meh. Their last couple of releases have been quite good actually, but at the time Air made it big with their first albums Zero 7 made nothing but elevator-esque lifestyle music as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway, to each their own. But I am right by default.

Air pretty much invented this sub-genre niche now occupied by a host of soundalikes (Zero 7 Lemon Jelly etc -).  I adored this CD when it first emerged in 1997 and it holds fab memoriesof driving down through rural France to Andorra in the summer, roof down etc.  BUT in UK this track has been massively overplayed on every other TV trailer and coffee advert, becoming musak in the process.

...which is sort of neat because the French duo set out to make lounge muzak in first place, so job done.  Touble is one doesnt want to listen to too many Zero 7s, as all are remarkably similar.  Occasionaly on RP 'tis perfect.

Worthy though 7/10
