| laprincessa | Posted: Jan 21, 2004 - 14:26 Stevie Wonder gone Muzak? ACK! :puke: |
| nolands (New York (about 2880 mi East of Paradise), NY) | Posted: Jan 21, 2004 - 14:25 This is right up there with Pat Metheny's version of Fire on the all-time classic-butchering list. |

If this were playing in an elevator, it would surely be one going somewhere far less interesting than hell, no? ;) But I agree in spirit--not sure this is the worst thing I've heard here, but as a cover (or, ahem, "remix"), it seems to me to insult the original. Hell, the musicians aren't even playing that well... |
| Jimi_Zep (Pec, Illinois) | Posted: Jan 21, 2004 - 14:24 the word travesty comes to mind |

| ksb (Oakland, CA) | Posted: Dec 21, 2003 - 18:31 I guess technically 'eclectic radio' would include muzak but do we really have to be technical about it? Please, leave this for the shoppers at the mall, ok? |
| cgarch | Posted: Dec 11, 2003 - 11:29 What's the point of doing this unless you're going to take a song like this somewhere - this verison goes nowhere. |
| toastee (Erie Pa) | Posted: Dec 11, 2003 - 11:27 some of the melody parts reminded me of the violin player from Kansas (the band)....can't believe it ...I just did a search and I found that RP hasn't played any Kansas...I may have finally found something I can upload...and no It won't be "Carry on my wayward son" |
| Platypus (here, now) | Posted: Dec 11, 2003 - 11:24 yeah. it seems cool for a second or two, then you realize that you're listening to an elevator muzak version of Stevie Wonder. |
| istanbulbaby (Asheville, NC) | Posted: Dec 11, 2003 - 11:23 I think it's kind of groovy. |
| nikiMc (Denver, CO) | Posted: Dec 11, 2003 - 11:23 Oh no...here it comes...yeah oh.... :puke: |
| OCDHG (10-E-C) | Posted: Dec 11, 2003 - 11:23 i just love a funky violin! :-({|= |
| elenaYAY (Los Angeleeeez) | Posted: Dec 11, 2003 - 11:23 Wow. I thought it would be impossible to suck the soul out of this song, but apparently I was wrong. |

Ditto. Forced me to log-in so that I could give it a 1. |
| Typesbad (Not quite Orange County CA) | Posted: Nov 10, 2003 - 12:05 I'm going to have to wait a bit for a definative judgement. I enjoy the original so much, it is hard to shake it from my expectations as I listen to this. My initial impression is that the overall production is just too smooth. The original seemed to have sharper edges which better fit the idea of "living in the city". |

You are right this is interesting indeed. Sax would be a better choice instead of violin. but it isn't too too bad. Interesting |

| Mot (53562) | Posted: Nov 10, 2003 - 12:03 You could probably call this "technically competent" but I just really don't think this is something that needed to be done. |
| Illustr8r | Posted: Nov 10, 2003 - 12:03 Someone thought this was a good idea. They were wrong. Forget the blue note. This is more like the "brown note" ala "South Park." |
| regor (europe) | Posted: Nov 10, 2003 - 12:02 Why not be the first? Okay -- this bites. It's a half step away from "Symphonic Rock." The words, and the vocal delivery, carry so much of the content of this piece that the fiddle is just drawing outlines .... |
| Pez | Posted: Nov 10, 2003 - 12:01 "Weird"? THAT'S generous.... OUCH!!! |
