Trying to be subtle and utterly failing, so it comes across as precious. When I read the British mags, I see this idiom once in a while. Had to guess the meaning from context, but I think I got it (but not the spelling): kack-handed. Fits. Had me going till then, though. But finally makes the narrator change from feeling superior to just being spiteful and jealous of the guy with the sofa. |
