Big fan of DCD here too Fred. Saw them live a couple of times down in London back in the day, excellent shows both. I was somewhat disturbed by one guy a few seats away from me constantly yelling out "I love you Moosehead!" in the general direction of Lisa Gerrard, but he may have just been delaring his unwavering support for Canada's oldest independant brewery. Possibly.

My dear, dear friend Jim Beeler - one of the coolest dudes ever - loved Dead Can Dance. He died on 8/28/12 - a week before their show in Atlanta. His sister and best friend went to the show for him. Wish I could have been there, too.

I'll never hear another DCD song without tearing up and smiling at the memory of Jim. RIP.

Which begs the question; Does an artist create for eternity or the Here-and-Now ?  working for a future world in 20-30-50 years but the bills have to be paid now... and record company, back up, studio want some to be paid on Friday.

Cracklin Rose reflects the world of Rose` wine and disco... pre-disc; post hippy... and now we're into... what-/ World music whirled into bland nothingness or spicy music from everywher... and do we choose to get more-more-ever-more of our choices refined down like a funnel via the Google-Pandora model of increasing popularity and reduced awareness with more advertising offerings from the wel priced ads not by real choices... or Radio Paradise, I'll pick-what-I-Like music... Me-? I'm Radio Paradise...IOW music selected by educated humans whose tastes evolve from listners offerings...

DCD is New2Me... RP has introduced me to a world of music that is not available from any local AM/FM/Internet channels... Friends prefer to listen annd relive the past-that-never-was in their music choices... I prefer the path less well traveled... I've orederd this CD and...will probably get th entire songbook before long.   I have probably 300 +CDs I would not have purchased simply because RP led me to a new artist and then I bought more.... Yeah, I prefer CDs to MP3... I can decide how many machines I luse and I can discover hidden nuggets over looked by others... That's the fun part...
