Saw these live supporting The Flaming Lips. Had never heard of them before, but it was the highlight of the concert. They're great live. Strangely entertaining watching a band perform in full surgical outfits. I bought this album as a result which was on constant play for weeks after that.

Pity The Flaming Lips couldn't keep my interest after that!

The main reason why I listen to Radio Paradise is that my only radio is an old Grundig beauty from the 40s and its frequency range is 88-100 MHz. The only cool radio station here is on 102.4MHz, so I would have to listen to either classical music, German folk music (which is very annoying) or a whole bunch of terrible local radio stations. Songs like this make me turn on my radio again.

I'm a big fan of this song and finally bought the CD - the rest of it is similar, with some additional great tunes. I blame RP for increasing my music vocabulary, but I agree it would be good to hear a few other tunes from the album.

I think he's referring to "Everything In It's Right Place" from Kid-A. No guitars, similar atmospheric bass tonal keyboards, similar tambor on the vocal. But, yeah, not NEARLY as good.

I think RP is so great, but the playlist seems a bit tight for its diversity, if that makes any sense. Seems that the artist played repeatly have bigger catalogs that us, the RP listeners, would enjoy the exposure to. Hats off though for the great work brought forth by RP and I do wish to give extra thanks to RP and technology making working late more enjoyable.

Instrumental portions sound a lot like Bronski Beat and Soft Cell from the mid 80s (Jimmy Somerville and Marc Almond, respectively).

But it's a catchy tune. Wonder what the rest of the album sounds like.

Boy this song is great. Not sick of it at all. As others have said, this song is infectious. Just increased my rating.

Is commericla radio playing this? I listen so infrequently these days thanks to RP, DISH stations (jazz, classical and big band - their adult alternative channel is weak) and my own mp3 and cd collections. Anyway, this SHOULD be on the radio.

As far as Laurie Anderson goes - She's AWESOME! Bill, we need some L.A.! That just makes my opinion of the artists all the more if they can appreciate Laurie enough to sample her.

This sounds like the singer from a brit band called Placebo. They did the song called "Pure Morning".

FWIW, for those mentioning overplay, have just now heard this for first time. On in the background, it immediately caught my ear. First reminded me of Bono backed by Wall of Voodoo (circa Call of the West). Harmonica gave it a bit of that WOV sound. Anyway, I like this a lot. Nice set of seques too, Bill.

The Singer is Ade Blackburn who was a member of Pure Morning. I didn't know him or the band before, but it reminds me a lot of Radiohead or Muse...
