Get on that gospel train for my lord is coming soon
Get on that gospel train for my lord is coming soon
So you had me going too, any day I've the taste just laughed
On a week of solar wing, getting off on electro-flesh
All the boys and all the girls, making out and taking turns
The sound was going down, I could see how Jesus wept
Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies
Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies
Exposure on a TV screen, technicolour rainbow kiss
Bruises on his solarplex, baby faced the biting lips
All the boys and all the girls, cutting nice with instant thrills
Insects on incest friends, heaven dressed the Judas spit
Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies
Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies
So whatever happened to love talk and polite remarks
Mind willing and her body weak, she's a star in a galaxy of real go fast
I'm the boy on all the girls, taking off their Bible belts
Storm girls on self destruct, and I can see how Jesus felt
Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies
Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies
Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies
Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies
Get on that gospel train for my lord is coming soon
Get on that gospel train for my lord is coming soon
Get on that gospel train for my lord is coming soon
Get on that gospel train for my lord is coming soon

| islander (Seattle) | Posted: Jun 11, 2004 - 13:38 blah, nice safe alternative... I'd expect this on the more progressive clearchannel stations. |

A little bit too bumpy for the elevator....Old Navy sounds just about right. |
| PeterGriffin (Delaware OH) | Posted: Mar 13, 2004 - 11:45 This song would be great to shop at Old Navy to, but not on RP |
| Notelrac (Raleigh, NC) | Posted: Jan 08, 2004 - 16:17 Repetitive noise, but not rhythmic enough to hold my interest |

Actually, they took that name from the Beastie Boys, who used to pay people to go out and procure gym shoes for them while on tour. People-who-purchased-gym-shoes-for-them = sneaker pimps. Then again, if you're offended by the concept of a blue movie, chances are that finding out "Sneaker Pimps" is an hommage to the Beastie Boys rather than prostitution won't win you over at all. |
| Drunkenlilacwine (somewhere b/n heaven and earth) | Posted: Dec 29, 2003 - 10:38 I like this song too. Very boppy. (bopping your head up and down) |
| justDave (Ventura, CA) | Posted: Nov 07, 2003 - 21:51 I'll pass on this, thank you. |
| RichardPrins (Canada) | Posted: Oct 28, 2003 - 14:26 Cool song... Like the lyrics and sounds... |
| redeyespy (W.P.B., FL) | Posted: Sep 27, 2003 - 21:22 Top candidate for worst song in the rotation!!! :verymad: |
| justlistening (Irvine, CA) | Posted: Sep 17, 2003 - 16:33 Very different - I enjoyed it. |
| PaulG (UK) | Posted: Aug 18, 2003 - 03:48 Six Underground is great. This is shite. |
| mellotron (South Cakalakee) | Posted: Jul 28, 2003 - 17:58 lets see what new icons there are for this: :puke: :P and of course the venerable yep, I like the comments on the beta site! |
| ndanger666 (Lost in the Ozone Again) | Posted: Jul 18, 2003 - 12:57 Actually watching Blue Movies would be a hell of a lot more interesting than this tune. Of course, so would a high colonic! |

Nevertheless this song is great!! |

| mixter (Malmo Sweden) | Posted: Jan 05, 2003 - 14:52 THe Sneaker Pimps have tons of great stuff, which means even more stuff I feel obligated to upload... So much music, so little time... |
| rKokon (Colesville, MD) | Posted: Nov 04, 2002 - 08:45 I agree with both Melissa and Dundee. In general, when the group has such a name and the cut has such a name, I expect that the lyrics will offend me. Now that I listen more closely . . . the song at first seems sacrilegious, but now I think it is about hypocrisy among those who proclaim virtuousness . . . a sentiment I have to share despite my aversion to pimps and blue movies. The song must be some sort of arch social commentary, including maybe some self-mockery and irony. At that intellectual level, I would have to overcome my initial bias against. Leaving the words aside, it has some intriguing musicality . . . so I will leave the jury out on this group and ruminate. I need a "hmmmm" symbol to use here, showing pondering. |
| loveslave (Uppsala) | Posted: Oct 25, 2002 - 03:45 I don't miss Kelli all that much. Her voice was a bit too baby-like for my taste. The Pimps are still a really good band. |
| TreborG2 (Marshall, VA) | Posted: Aug 24, 2002 - 17:04 Have to agree with others.... kelli made the band a little better... this song's ok.. but could be better to.. |
| time_101 (Bozeman, MT) | Posted: Aug 15, 2002 - 13:23 Bring back Kelli Dayton!!!! sneaker pimps just aren't the same without her. |
| soulspin (Melbourne, FL) | Posted: Aug 12, 2002 - 05:53 each time i hear this i up my rating for it. |
| Natus (Roskilde) | Posted: Jul 26, 2002 - 02:28 Indeed interesting - but their first cd was with a female vocalist (Kelli Dayton), with a beautiful and very erotic voice. I can only recommend that CD!. Unfortunately Kelli hasn't, to my knowledge, made a lot of music since... |
| JCJ (Rochester, NY) | Posted: Jun 28, 2002 - 14:17 this is probably the first song i've heard from this group. I really like it. Reminds me a bit of Stereo MCs. |
| melissa (Murray, KY) | Posted: Jun 27, 2002 - 07:59 like fingernails on a chalkboard truly irritating |
| squarepixel (Troy, MI) | Posted: Jun 27, 2002 - 07:52 I have to assume that they have written more than just this one song... Not a bad tune, but it's getting old. |
| odaily (Dundee) | Posted: Jun 18, 2002 - 09:33 Not sure I like this too much. Way too many dodgey allusions between Jesus and Porn. :???: |
| macolyte (Bellevue, WA) | Posted: Jun 18, 2002 - 09:31 Had my attention immediately - which is _not_ why I'm listening at 9 in the morning. Very compelling. Just sitting here listening, now, which is kinda too bad, 'cause it's not quite so compelling when the repetitive lyrics are out front. Good stuff, Bill. |
| pilgrim (Portland (uploads inclusive), OR) | Posted: Jun 11, 2002 - 12:02 First time i caught this...great groove from the opening bass riff till the end. |
| bobringer (Mahwah, NJ) | Posted: Jun 06, 2002 - 21:26 Wonderful to hear from somewhere other than my hard drive... An excellent song. This is the reason corporate radio sucks... we'll never hear this there. We heard "6 Underground" on regular radio in the NY area but that was back in the mid 90's... a whole different world when it comes to music. Before the mergers took their toll... |
