Inside a heart of summer soul
Don't let them take it away
Cause inside's something solid gold
So don't let them throw it away
Words, they mean nothing
So you can't hurt me
I said words, they mean nothing
So you can't stop me
I said your eyes, they say nothing
So you can't hurt me
(On summer days like these)
I said words they mean nothing
So you can't hurt me
Follow your own path from here
So don't listen to what they say
(They don't know nothing)
Cause inside, you've a heart of gold
So don't let them take this away
Words, they mean nothing,
So you can't hurt me
(On summer days like these)
I said words, they mean nothing,
So you can't stop me
(On summer days like these)
I said your eyes, they say nothing,
So you can't fault me
I said words, they mean nothing,
So you can't hurt me
Inside a heart of pure soul
A sun rising and falling away, like your soul
Cause here comes something wonderful
So don't let them throw it away
Words, they mean nothing
So you can't hurt me
(On summer days like these)
I said words they mean nothing
So you can't stop me
(On summer days like these)
I said your eyes, they say nothing,
So you can't stop me
(On summer days like these)
I said words, they mean nothing,
So you can't hurt me

| rdo | Posted: Nov 14, 2008 - 06:07 I really do have to mute this one. It sounds good for a minute, but it is way too repetitive. It will stick and play an endless loop in your head if you're not careful. |

I love this album too, but I'd say you're taking it a bit far. But to each his own. This track and Caught by the River are 9s in my book. The rest of the album is full of solid 6s, 7s and 8s. |

Kinda a letdown after the Moody Blues. But I still like the Doves. |

| Ntropy (Cleveland, OH) | Posted: Apr 07, 2008 - 07:22 This sounds good...until the vocals begin. Offkey lead vocal + offkey harmonies = rating of a 2. At best. |

Time to get a new dentist! This is one of my favorite travel songs...recline the airplane seat and fade out. Great tune from a great album. |

True, true. Really like The Doves, though. Both of their cd's (not counting the b-sides CD which is decent) are very good IMHO. |

True, it seems like every one of my comments that I look back on appear to have come from a moronic 13-year-old (does that happen with anyone else? Was I drunk?), but is that reason to be so harsh? I just wanted to express my appreciation for a good song. I love this station and I love being able to make comments, but so often it seems like I'm listening with a lot of pretentious, self-indulgent pricks who think that they have to show off their "intelligence" by being critical of everything. Are they unhappy? Guess I shouldn't take to much stock from someone who can't spell. words. . . they mean nothing. . . |

| stubbsz (San Jose, CA) | Posted: Jun 30, 2003 - 10:41 Doesn't this sound a bit like that song by the Lightening seeds ? Pure and simple I think it was called. |

| CaptainSacto (Citrus Heights, CA) | Posted: Dec 18, 2002 - 08:31 Interesting range of commentary on this one. Personally, I think it's very good. I'd never heard of Doves prior to this, but I find I enjoy their music quite a bit. |
