Nice transition from Paul Simon - The Afterlife. From the comments, hasn't played on Radio Paradise for 5 years.
So I wonder how long it took Bill to remember "...that song I used to play that sounded like this new one from Paul Simon..."

I was thoroughly compelled to post an image reply to this, but then...nah.

A great song to follow this one would be the "I'm not dead yet" song from Spamalot.

The quivering voice in the chorus reminds me of why I don't like Bright Eyes. The idea that fragility necessarily equates to sincerity is false. Otherwise, this song might be alright.

That's a good THEORY. Still largely unproven.

Still an excellent tune from a solid album.

Interesting.

Bought this album on iTunes (before the ability to have a portion given back to RP, unfortunately) after hearing it here on RP.

It is VERY good, and worth the purchase.

Very happy!

funny you should mention that - when they toured, they frequently played a seriously arse-kickin' cover of Pink Floyd's "Breathe".

also check out Blind Melon if you dig his guitar work.

Love this song! I believe these are members of Pearl Jam and Blind Melon. They are no longer a band however. Too bad. They're quite good!

I read the title and think Monty Python Holy Grail. Can't help it...

Nice tune from these guys, anyway.

cool tune and indentifiable lyrics (have I died and not known it?) - deserves a much better rating, and this is the first time I'm hearing it. :???: to all the detractors I have nuthin' to say but (excuse the pun) Edited By orpheus at 10:03 pm on 8/19/2003

Compare this to the song that comes after, "Common Disaster" by the Cowboy Junkies. "Not Dead" is subtle as a sledgehammer and uninteresting musically. Blech. Boring.
