It's NewAge. boo.
It's country. boo.
It's metal. boo.
It's technopop. boo.
It's easylisteningoperacountryrapmetal. boo.

It speaks to you or it doesn't. Frankly, I don't much care about the label, the end result is what counts. I happily give out 2's for those that leave me cold, and the 8's for ones that kick me in the junk.

Wait! I know you guys know this. How often does RP recycle its playlists? This is madness.

So many armchair critics. So so tedious.

Every day's playlist is a revelation. Thanks Bill. Freed from commercial radio tyranny forever.

Some people still just don't appreciate what they've got here, and that's a real shame.

Will it all please everybody? No. But come on folks, easy does it. Geez. Don't like it, don't listen.

It's called "NewAge" and it rhymes with "sewage".

But this ain't either. Its derned good picking, if you axe me.

This is the second time I've seen the phrase "New Age" used in reference to really excellent guitar playing. The first was a response to a piece by an artist in Mali. And then there's this. Sort of makes me think if there's a genre called "New Age" and these songs are representative of that genre...well, you can count me in as a fan, though I've never dressed up like a hobbit. I think it's beautiful. What's wrong with something that's just basically well done? Ah, I suppose it's lacking a little testosterone. But man, you can't listen to Whitesnake all the time.

You should list French composer Rene Aubry. Would fit in really well after Jesse Cook.

At the first few bars I came here wondering what Gipsy Kings album this was from.

Then as I discovered the artist (new to me) and the bars went by and nothing really seemed to develop, I realized what wonders can be achieved with resonant effects and a tinkle bell, and I issued a rare sub 5.

A wasted opportunity.

You definitely don't want to judge this CD by its cover. Some marketing guy probably thought that cd cover was cool...Otherwise it's a good song.

This isn't very good, but the little bell in the background makes it really awful. Did the producer wonder, how can we make sure people know that this is new agey nonsense-I know add a little tinkeling bell!

Wow...this is a exquisite song...i bought a couple of Jesse Cook albums after hearing this one and there's something for everyone in his music. The reworking of Neil Finn's "Fall at Your Feet" on the same album is a good one, too (but begs the question: why get Danny Wilde of the Rembrandts to handle vocals instead of the real McCoy)? Probably the song I listen to the most is "Down Like Rain" which is also sung by Wilde on the Album Nomad. If you like flamenco-tinged world music, check it out.

I'm sorry, but I this, imho, really bad.

It's hackneyed, boring, and totally void of substance. Great guitarist, it sounds nice, but still... What about the MUSIC?

There's a lot of stuff on RP that i think is quite nice but this is the 1st in a while I've been impelled to buy the record.
Straightforward feelgood and y not.
Admittedly it's borderline schmaltz but it's just far enough north of the border to bear repeated playings.

well put, but i wonder if i am the only one that doesn't like players that make their instrument "sing" like a human voice. I think that sounds always tacky, no matter how good the player, or tasteful the music ...
