| Hannio (Austin, TX) | Posted: Aug 02, 2012 - 10:28 Wow. Not played since'06? |
| Hannio (Austin, TX) | Posted: Jun 21, 2006 - 05:11 This reminds me so much of the Zombies' Time of the Season. |
| eisbaer_67 (Kula, Hawaii) | Posted: Jun 06, 2006 - 15:24 Before we got married, my wife went on a date with the guitar player. My impartiality is impaired! Watch out, Smashmouth! ("Laminated Lists" of freebies with celebrities are exempt) |
| bobrk (Beautiful Downtown San Jose) | Posted: Jun 06, 2006 - 15:08 My company hired them for a party. They put on a great show for only a couple hundred people. I danced to every song! |
| bradyu3 (SLC Utah) | Posted: Jun 06, 2006 - 15:07 WHY IN THE HELL ARE YOU PLAYING THIS?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? |
| UltraNurd (Boston, MA) | Posted: Jun 06, 2006 - 15:07 This was, for whatever reason, the official theme song of my middle school/high school cross country running team. |
| handyrae (Zero Point Field) | Posted: May 08, 2006 - 11:40 I love this song! I hate the rest of the album. This song alone is proof that we need iTunes, et al. That is--the ability to buy at a fair price the one good song on an otherwise crappy CD. |
| bbgun | Posted: May 08, 2006 - 11:24 Went to school with the lead singer, and interviewed their guitarist back in his previous band, so I can't help but have a soft spot for these guys. Astro-Lounge was a solid album, but they seem to have lost direction a bit. Still, hard to root against these SJ natives... |
| Wisercrowe | Posted: May 08, 2006 - 11:12 what you say to your boyfriend? what the hell is a more man? |
| BigPete (Halifax, Nova Scotia) | Posted: May 08, 2006 - 11:11 Naysay all you want but this song was hugely popular for good reason - extremely catchy and original. |

| TobalMoreno (2,981 mi Due East (Sitting on a Catchbasin)) | Posted: May 08, 2006 - 11:07 Hey high school, what's up. |
| H-bomb | Posted: May 08, 2006 - 11:07 No thank you. |
| smallstakes | Posted: May 08, 2006 - 11:06 Overplayed? Absolutely. It still makes me smile and bop. |
| ArbiterOfGoodTaste (Seattle WA) | Posted: May 08, 2006 - 11:06 What?! Why!?! *mute* |
| GregK (Maryland) | Posted: May 08, 2006 - 11:05 Time for a new, higher quality rip, sounds pretty muddy on the 192 stream. |
| bradyu3 (SLC Utah) | Posted: May 08, 2006 - 11:05 This blows!!!!!!!!!! |
| Roverfish (Tucson, AZ - Thanks for visiting, please drive through!) | Posted: Nov 08, 2003 - 15:14 Despite severe overplay on mainstream radio, this song persists as a catchy pop tune I enjoy hearing 2 or 3 times a year. Thanks, Bill. |
| Brad_Eleven (Richmond, TX) | Posted: Oct 29, 2003 - 08:08 "Frat Boy Bar Band"????? It's amazing how we human beings are so quick to pigeonhole artists without hearing any of their work besides what gets played in public. I'm presuming big-time that you labellers don't own any of Smashmouth's work, and therefore haven't heard what didn't make it onto the radio. Maybe you have all listened to the group, seen them perform, really given them a chance and have made an informed decision--it just doesn't seem that way. Then again, quick analysis and prejudice are the hallmarks of survival. For sure I wouldn't be here if my ancestors had paused to consider whether killing some huge charging beast might result in its extinction. It just hasn't been long enough for these reflexes to disappear, and they're still mostly transparent. We don't need them nearly as much as we used to, and so often I find myself surviving a friendly situation because I've given in to the fear that I'm threatened somehow. I missed out on Elvis and the Beatles while they were still making new music because they were just "too popular", i.e., my 10-year-old consciousness was mature enough to know I wanted my own path, but too busy being right to actually listen. I get the "crammed down my throat" feeling, and I still don't like to just go along with what's popular (don't get me started about war and patriotism), but I don't appreciate the uninformed insults. e·clec·tic adj. 1. Selecting or employing individual elements from a variety of sources, systems, or styles: an eclectic taste in music; an eclectic approach to managing the economy. 2. Made up of or combining elements from a variety of sources: a popular bar patronized by an eclectic collection of artists, writers, secretaries and aging soldiers on reserve duty (Curtis Wilkie). |
| Schmackdown | Posted: Oct 29, 2003 - 07:54 I'd say I like fully half the tracks on "astro lounge", there are some serious sleepers on that album- "I just wanna see" is a great tune. |
| PeterGriffin (Delaware OH) | Posted: Oct 29, 2003 - 07:54 Actually, this segue of two horrible songs worked great! Since I had to turn the volume off on both, I actually got some work done Thanks Bill, I needed that! Leslie wrote: Nice segue Bill, following up Nancy Sinatra's These Boots are Made for Walkin' with this song.

| RParadise (New York, NY) | Posted: Oct 29, 2003 - 07:52 but I love the lyrics for this one. Having lived through the period both alluded to and the time the song was written, I think it has more wit and things to say that a lot of songs I hear. |

| Roto (Seattle, WA) | Posted: Sep 18, 2003 - 10:27 Smashmouth is sucko-barfo, but this song is a gem. They have spent the rest of their careers trying to duplicate this one song and they never will be able to pull it off. |
| porcupinemeat (Pleasant Ridge, MI) | Posted: Sep 18, 2003 - 10:24 The chorus always reminds me of Love Potion #9. |
| gandalfbmg (Liberty, MO) | Posted: Sep 18, 2003 - 10:23 Huh? Ain't complaining, but Bill's got a lot of guts playing this "frat boy pop crap" to this crowd. Now that it is no longer shoved down my throat by FM, I kinda like hearing this song... brings back happy college memories if nothing else (yes, I was one of those frat boys grovin' to this song at one time) |
| jbmckee (West Valley City, UT) | Posted: Apr 01, 2003 - 21:02 Oh, lighten up! The song is fun (once in a while). |

| adashiel (Bloomington, IN (1854 mi. E of Paradise)) | Posted: Mar 22, 2003 - 16:11 I love hearing this kind of stuff occasionally on RP. Sure, it riles up the "contempt for the masses" crowd, but it's all good. They ain't happy unless they're turning up their noses at something. :p |
| www.MarkTAW.com (Brooklyn, NY) | Posted: Mar 22, 2003 - 15:59 This song is pretty cool, but what's wiht the top 40 radio on RP? I can't even turn on the TV without hearing this song on a commercial. |

| coldwd (Brooklyn, NY) | Posted: Mar 12, 2003 - 11:57 i agree quite fully with your comments on Smashmouth. But cake is great, man. Give 'em a couple more listens 'specially "long line of cars" that's been making some rounds on the playlist lately. Originally Posted by SnackBox_Acid:

| coldwd (Brooklyn, NY) | Posted: Mar 12, 2003 - 11:29 overplayed commercial blech! doesn't deserve to touch the rp playlist. |
| marycrichards (Fairbanks, AK) | Posted: Mar 12, 2003 - 11:29 I wouldn't go so far as to say more Smashmouth, but the intelligent songs that they do - like this one - is a treat to hear on RP! Thanks |
| MaK (Wellesley, Ma) | Posted: Mar 12, 2003 - 11:29 Just awful. |
| pikester (Los Angeles, CA) | Posted: Jan 28, 2003 - 14:21 From the "Never thought I'd hear it here" department! I'll have to be the second to admit to the guilty pleasure of it all. Dare I even say "More SmashMouth!" |
| rgrace (Berkeley, CA) | Posted: Jan 28, 2003 - 14:21 Oh blagh. This has NO place here. At first I totally glossed over this one - I've heard it so many times it's easy to just overlook it. then I realized it has shown up on RP! This is just the corporate rock crap we're trying to avoid! NO NO NO! |
| tomnam (Santa Monica, CA) | Posted: Jan 28, 2003 - 14:13 Alright, I'll be the first to admit this is a guilty pleasure - I had to look around before I turned up the volume... |
