This message isn't for tg3k but for anyone else who might resonate with what I'm about to say. Speaking as a Christian, not on behalf of them, I'll tell you that Christians are at their worst when we allow our selfish need to be right to drive our desire to save the souls of others. It's an either/or situation, a conflict of interests. If you ever sense a Christian trying to "sell" you something, just walk away. Tg3k is spot-on to say that he recognizes truth in Christian teachings but despises brow-beating. Salvation is, in part, a choice between covering your own ass or looking out for the asses of others. I happen to know a hundred "liberals" who care more deeply for the unfortunate and needy than a lot of the Christians I've known. If you're that liberal, I'd like you to consider, just for a moment, that you are closer to accepting Christ than you think. Tori is definitely in that boat. I had the same violent reaction every Christian does to the title "Father Lucifer," moreso because I'm probably the biggest Tori fanatic in the entire evangelical congregation. It's obvious, if you take the time to listen, that Tori is using a wildly antagonistic metaphor to say not that she loves Satan but that God, as represented by the psychotic televangelists and their throng, is not looking so cogent these days. The song is a question, not a statement. To the Christians in the audience, I say, try listening at least as often as you speak — see if that opens your mind at all. Just a thought. (shrug)

In general, I agree with Christian principals and morals, but I despise people who tell me how to think or feel, regardless of their honorable intentions.

Hey Trekhead, back off. I'm a Christian, too, but Marley already said how tired she was of getting preaching jammed down her throat. Even though we feel like it might be nice sometimes to be able open someone's head or heart with a can opener and put in the thoughts we want, that's not our job. Get my drift?

And acceptance of WHAT truth? Hate, bigotry, judgementalism, and a lack of tolerance, love and understanding? I thought Jesus stood for love, tolerance and turning the other cheek. Looking at the actions of most folks with "religion" , I guess I was wrong. I think judgemental religious types are deplorable.

In Oregon we're voting on measure 37-the constitutional amendment on marriage to be a man and women. I am deeply saddened everytime I see someone with a bumper sticker or yard sign promoting this measure. It's only Christians who are in support of this admendment, and fortunately, most of Portland is intellegent enought to vote it down.

I, myself, have turned Pagan-I cannot support a philosophy that preaches hate.
