| Norge1 (Portland, Or.) | Posted: Sep 20, 2004 - 13:35 Hard to look at VU now, in 2004...it's too out of context. BUT, back then baby...it was THE haps :grouphug: Music was a different experience...and, the drugs were much better |

| gstark33 (Boulder Creek (223mi SSW of RP), CA) | Posted: May 07, 2003 - 16:13 The thing about these early bands is that many times they were the first bands of their genre. Lou Reed, and the VU people were all part of Warhol's Factory scene. They pioneered glam rock, minimal rock and more. They greatly deserve respect, even if they are not good for every mood. |

| Last_DJ (Columbus, OH) | Posted: Mar 28, 2003 - 07:57 I never have understood the appeal of this band, I think people just like name dropping them as an "influence" to impress critics |

Not a punk band but defintely a major influence of punk. These guys, of course were around way before punk even started (1966/67). I you like art rock then you would definitely enjoy their music in general. Pick up their first album with Nico (Andy Warhol "Banana" album) as a good introduction. |
