GREAT - (daughter of) BORIS!

Quite a likeable tune I believe.  Personally, I seldom like recordings with over-polished, professional vocals, or ones that seem to be trying too hard to "go somewhere" or come off as "unpredictable".  So, some young woman goes out and records a personal song that may sound like some other artists; it's not necessarily going to make me go out and buy her recordings, but then again, I probably wouldn't buy any of the recordings made by the "music authorities" who posted here either.
Oh wait, there aren't any of those recordings.

Good lead into Van Morrison.  I am patiently awaiting this song.

I hear traces of Natalie Merchant, both in her delivery and in the song arrangement.

Actually, I think it would work great as an instrumental. The vocal is more of a distraction for me than anything.

It's nice as hell to hear this lady's voice, having originally heard her years and years ago in a small coffeehouse called the Iguana Cafe in North Hollywood. As I though, her musical skills and vocal talents have only matured over time. The soulfulness I heard then has blossomed into a fine singer now.

I'm pretty sure Deb sings her own harmonies on the recording. FYI the album is available on her website (and you can email her with questions) www.debpasternak.com

"PMS", "Tampons" (elsewhere, complete with a pic, for cryin' out loud), consistently snotty sophomoric misogeny plastered all over women soloists, one might conclude that you've got a problem.

I love this song. It makes me think about how life must have been like for my grandparents when they were first married in the early 1920s, and setting up a homestead in the Montana prairie. They're in love, the future is wide open, and they're scared as hell.
