| catsoup (Euclid, OH) | Posted: Mar 30, 2009 - 05:41 I can only give it a 6. I like the guitar work, but his voice just doesn't really bring anything new to the song. It's not a bad cover, it's just not an outstanding one either. |
| kaybee (Lost in the Wilds of Toronto) | Posted: Oct 23, 2008 - 16:47 Nice cover! |

This not a mullet:
And this is not a mullet:
This is a mullet:
A mullet has to have the top of the head shaved back, otherwise, it's just long hair. |

| tiggers | Posted: Feb 14, 2008 - 02:45 Wimpy vocals and that dumb Spanish guitar!!! This is utterly dire - how to wreck a classic in one easy move. |

| Jack_Jefferson (Columbus, OH) | Posted: Dec 13, 2007 - 05:55 Decent cover of the song. The silly hairdo on the cover takes a point off of it, though. |

How many songs have you heard in your life? Four? Come on, ya gotta do better than that. Far worse than this, like anything by Britney Spears or Backstreet boys. Worst song ever, my #ss! |
| slydevil | Posted: Aug 09, 2007 - 13:48 love flamenco guitar but this does nothing for me. insipid byran adams-like mediocrity. |

| teapot | Posted: Aug 09, 2007 - 13:46 I had heard about this version of FaYF, but never actually "heard" it. Flamenco? Argh! |
| lathyris (Houston, TX) | Posted: Aug 09, 2007 - 13:46 This is so hokey and pukey and ookey. . .but I still kind of like it. Damnit. |
| (former member) (Too far from the bay of Funday) | Posted: Jun 23, 2007 - 10:19 The original: I'm lying in a quiet room on a warm summer day with the girl I love, thinking how wonderful life can be, not moving from the moment. This song: I'm walking through the stores outside a hot, long day inside Disneyland and there's a group of "authentic" musicians playing "authentic" instruments trying to get me to buy their new CD, but all I want is to get to my car and start the long ride home. |

I agree that this cover is not as good as the original, but I like this one and I always enjoy hearing covers of Crowded House songs because it means that the originals won't be lost in obscurity. Crowded House is and always will be my favorite band. |

Danny Wilde was with the Rembrants I thought. Not the Finn Bros. or Crowded House. Do I have this wrong??? Good tune by the way!! |

| sproggit (canada (for now)) | Posted: Mar 05, 2007 - 11:25 just putting flamenco guitar into a song isn't enough to make it ok to do a cover. imo |
| madaxeman (By the sea) | Posted: Jan 04, 2007 - 13:31 I'd like to hear the Finn's comments on this.I don't think it adds much,if anything to the original,but in it's own(original)way it's as good as the original,so in my book.Awesome. |

| ladybinnath (Buffalo, NY) | Posted: Dec 06, 2006 - 11:51 This adds nothing to the original, though the acoustic guitar remains nice...reminds me of Al Stewart actually. |
| Daniel_Pittenger (Vermont) | Posted: Dec 06, 2006 - 11:51 Wow, I really like this. It's catchy, and not whiny like some. The guitar lick in the background is steller. Solid 9 |

| Marr (Houston (dreaming of Austin)) | Posted: Aug 11, 2006 - 11:39 Neil is one of those guys whose best writing seems to work best for his voice alone. Its not that this isn't a good attempt. It is. But without his voice it lacks (for me) the heart of the song. |
