Strange beautiful modal shredding, done in very good taste by a true journeyman guitarist.

Me too and I thought I was done with him, until I created my Satriani Pandora station...loving Satriani again.

Had to take a break from Joe as too much of his stuff started to sound the same to me. This wasn't a bad Cd tho. Will have to go give it another listen.

It's you.  You have a desert like sound. (Just teasing.)  I really like it, too - and something about that mysterious "Scheherazade" sort of vibe, with the major-then-minor key shifts - it's quite yummy.  I still love "Summersong" the best, though... {#Sunny}

At least he has technique. That's more than can be said for thousands of lame Indie guitar players out there today.

Not much of a fan of the guitar work here, but a little fiddling with the equalizer brings out a bottom end that's pretty fantastic. I'm too lazy to look up the keyboard, bass and drummer, but they work together very well.

A steady diet of this kind of thing does nothing for me (and there are certainly a number of streaming feeds that cater to screaming guitar-heads if you disagree).  In small doses however, such as what RP provides, it's not all that bad.

There's been a change in the occupants of the White House since you posted that comment. Now it's all Jonas Brothers, all the time.

I never understood this philosophy.  How does balance things out work?  If everyone just rated things like they truly think, wouldn't' the ratings then be properly balanced?

Quite. I really thought it was a new PT track until I looked at the listings - either Satriani's been influenced by PT or vice versa, depending on who came first. An initial 6 from the Nottingham jury.

Great music for bedspins, if you liked bedspins as I did.

Riding the Scree, from The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, was always a favorite too.

Radiohead.  Coma time.

Come on, let's rock a bit!

Re the "booger eating trailer park moron" comment: they're playing RP in the White House now?

 Ok, since you made me lol I will give it a 10. And that means a lot because I was outside doing some landscaping in the front yard and got a bad sunburn on my expanding forehead, so I'm not in the best of moods. (does the White House really listen to RP?)

p.s. Well, that was a waste of time, I gave it a 10 but the 'Avg. Rating' didn't budge, it's still at 5.9

Once again I see the usual suspects who I almost always completely disagree with ... although at a 5.9 cumulative rating, I'm outvoted.

I downloaded this after hearing it here.  It rocks.  Maybe we need an "RP Rocks" feed and leave Radiohead and Cake to the somnambulists.

However, parts of it sound a tad self-absorbed. Going to need a few more listens.
