| Sjaaks (Horst, Netherlands) | Posted: Jun 10, 2010 - 10:14 I love this... Also love the way the pedal steel flows through the song.... 9 |

| ksg (Florida) | Posted: Aug 14, 2009 - 11:35 I looked too to see if it might be Lucinda..didn't think so, but there are some parts where I was like is she in a band I don't know about??? |

| aaronm (Eugene, Oregon) | Posted: Aug 14, 2009 - 11:31 Walking to New Orleans -> Jesus In New Orleans I'm guessing that next up is Arlo Guthrie's City of New Orleans, but I'm *hoping* that instead it's Louis Armstrong's Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans? |
| jbunniii (San Jose, CA) | Posted: Aug 14, 2009 - 11:30 Her accent is over-the-top ridiculous. Kinda wrecks the song for me. |
| denmom (Connecticut) | Posted: May 11, 2009 - 06:59 Sounds like low rent Lucinda Williams. Her, I like. This, not so much. |
| missy_pringle (Chattanooga) | Posted: Mar 25, 2009 - 06:53 I changed my rating from 6-9. Please play some more OtR. |
| ladycore (Quebec, Canada) | Posted: Feb 21, 2009 - 17:57 I'm an atheist and I think those lyrics are stupid but I gave this song a 6 because of the singer's voice and the melody. |
| yofitofu (Santa Barbara, CA) | Posted: Feb 05, 2009 - 15:01 Fantastic group. They have such a great sound. Thanks for playing it. |

it is a very interesting song, i point out the excellent register of voice of Karin Bergquist, writter, vocalist and guitarist; unhappyly i do not make use of elements enough to make one correct appreciation with only a song: in case that it is possible and it is center of your "program-of-the-party", to pass more songs of these artists please. ** 6 / 7 ** |

| wferrier (Johnson City, New York; Home of the Factory) | Posted: Jul 15, 2008 - 11:43 This sounds like a mix of Lucinda Williams, Pure Prairie League, and Floyd Cramer, which is not a bad thing. Come to think of it, why dont we ever hear Pure Prairie League on this station? Is our DJ not cool? |
| peterata | Posted: Jul 15, 2008 - 11:36 This one gets an 8 for the opening line alone. Which was? Last time I saw Jesus I was drinking blood and WHAT? |
| thewiseking (New York, New York) | Posted: Jul 15, 2008 - 11:35 wait, Jesus is In New Orleans? ZZ Top told me he just left Chicago! |

| iggam (Chicago) | Posted: Jan 08, 2008 - 14:01 I remember you guys playing this back in '05 after we all started to find out just how bad things were in New Orleans. |
| bam23 (Berkeley) | Posted: Jan 08, 2008 - 14:01 This sounds like Lucinda Williams only to the extent that both singers are women and have a southern (Ohio, in this case) inflection. Beyond that, I cannot see the source of possible confusion. Of the albums by Over the Rhine that I have, this is the most consistently fine. It's great travelling music, especially with a bit of a hempified buzz. |
| robco1 (Chicago, IL) | Posted: Jan 08, 2008 - 14:00 Have to confess, this is a little too much country for me. |

While the "intonation" comment is a bit strong, I have to agree in principle. I saw these guys live (hey, I went there for the other band, Hem), and I thought they were awful. Her vocal styling bothered me the most.this girl oughtta staighten out her act. What a great song! the drunken whore intonation don't doit no good. |

Thanks for the info...that'll teach me to look things up myself before putting hand to keyboard. You gotta admit though this does have the same writing style as a GP tune. |
