Yeah, man, like if they were any good, they'd have like Fender Strats, Marshall stacks, and a drummer, right?

Or you could make it easy on yourself and get the Union Station CDs.

Edgar Meyer has a talent for playing a part in consistently brilliant instrumentals of all sorts, as well as for playing the fat fiddle as well as he does. I was introduced to his 'Unfolding' album from '86 during the early '90s and have been hooked since. Also great to see him getting involved at last in BBC4's transatlantic celtic/bluegrass sessions on tv along with long time co conspirator Bela Fleck. Check also Bela's 'Crossfire' tune featuring em both alongside some fiendish fiddlin frenzy!
Cheers mi duck!

Lots of Nu2Mi music using the cello... Very interesting and cool...adds a depth that the guitar lacks and the bass is too deep...
Thanks... I keep buying music I first hear here... This is getting expensive... 2-3-5 CDs a day is a bit more than I can/should afford... course, being holidays and nothing to do but listen and surf... If I don't get back to work, I won't be able to afford music... Still better'n alcohol or drugs... but... Call me "Konflicted..."

Wow! That is one atrocious cover. Cheesier than Gorgonzola. Truly a classic of the genre, much as Plan 9 from Outer Space is a classic of the so-bad-its-good kitsch film genre. Has anyone compiled a list of the 'top' 20 worst-ever album covers, anyone know?

To me, these guys are "the sound" of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado, held every June. I used to attend it yearly in the early 90s, and they were always there at workshops and having sets together....and I always feel like I'm right back there under the aspens, with that beautiful box canyon mountainscape surrounding the little Telluride stage....great musicians. {#Good-vibes}

Hey, I love Mark Knopfler too.... However, I'm sure the phenomenal Mr. Knopfler himself would admit he doesm't have half the chops of Jerry Douglas. And BTW, it's not a steel guitar, it's a dobro. These are all world class musicians at the top of thier games. Open your mind. Open your ears and let the beauty of the music speak for itself.

A Dobro is a brand of resonator guitar (acoustic guitars with metal inserts). So is a National. Dobro and National are brand names (registered trademarks). They are usually played in steel guitar fashion with a slide (the steel). Jerry Douglas plays his Dobro in steel guitar fashion.

And IMHO, Jerry and Mark are both phenomenal musicians. No comparisons are necessary.
