His style is too British to ever get much attention anywhere else really.. Another Punk/Mod-turned-mainstream yawn in my very humble opinion.

Hmm this came on today and I was actually kind of happy to hear it. Not quite as ponderous as those others. I still haven't rated it because the range is too wide. Today a 6, most days a Joe Cocker-esque 3.

Goddamnit I sure do love this song. I have a hard time attaching this Paul Weller to the Jam. This reminds me more of Dave Mason's stuff. Soo soulful and good!

Beck, The Cure, Armatrading to Paul Weller!!!
Whoa! What a set for a Friday night!!
Unfortunately, I'm here at work, but not working...I'm thinking about the lyrics of these songs.
And now Noir Desir! NO work from me dear manager.

Not complaining though.  8/10

Paul Weller was the theme of a book, The Modfather, in which David Lines documented his life growing up in Leeds, and his adolescent obsession with Paul Weller. Paul was certainly influenced by 'Mod' style throughout his career and does come from the era of Mods & Rockers where sharp suits, pills and scooters were the thing. There is no one else that 'fits' the title Modfather better than Paul IMHO.

I love this song, and of course, I don't know why. I guess I must be one of those "earthy" souls that loves what it loves, and too much analysis is useless. Silly me. {#Sunny}

Paul Weller - Godlike Genius. .... Absolutely. His work with the Jam inspired this RP'er to get into a band. I give him a pass in Style Council, but his solo stuff is deserving of the highest honour. RP needs to play more Paul Weller

News for the World:
It's been a long time coming but Paul Weller - former leader of the Jam, lynchpin of the Style Council and all-round Modfather - is to be honoured by weekly music magazine NME when they crown him Godlike Genius at this year's Shockwaves NME Awards on Feb. 24.
