Another PG  song  I heard on RP, and I already have it, dammit I like it.

I was trying to figure whether I like this or not...and I dont. The sound is to forward for my tastes and ultimately becomes fatiguing.

I thought the same thing about "Flaming Red" for the longest time, mainly because it's so different than her other albums. However, as I've opened up and given it a chance, I've really started to like it more than I did originally. It's definitely not my favorite album by her, but I now like most of the songs on the disc (including this one).

That "sound" - it's called distortion - introduced intentionally by way of a "fuzz box" . Contrary to the two of you, I think this is her best album. Emmylou Harris also uses a fuzz box on a lot of her work.

I love it, too. I think it's a little apply-orangy to say it's not as good as her others. It's simply her most obviously rock/pop.

An OK tune, but "ho-hum" by Patty's standards.

I think the word you are scratching for is "accessible".  Yeah, it's not going to be the subject of any songwriting thesis but it does give a very good entry point to Patty's catalog for those curious.  Nothing wrong with that.   Even Shakespeare had to pay the bills.

So go ahead, beat your head against that brick wall...won't do you any good though....OR, maybe, it'll knock some sense into you.
