Trouble
Don't you see
That in your bed
I find no sleep
I confess you came because of me
Trouble get behind me now
Trouble let me be
Cold wet stone
Deep river bed
Once so clean and clear now runs red
You know too well
Was me that called you here
Trouble get behind me now
Trouble let me be
Oh sweet day
Leave me behind
I will never call on you
Until the day I die
Pray your mercy shine on me
Pray your mercy shine
Here I stand
Head bowed for thee
My empty heart begs you
Leave me be
But I confess
You know too well
That I have fallen
Pray your mercy give to me
Pray your mercy shine
Trouble
Trouble thee
Let your mercy shine
Cold wet stone
River deep and red
Your cold heart beats inside my head
You know too well
It was me that brought you here
Ohhh trouble get behind me now
Trouble let me be
I pray your mercy shine on me
Trouble let me be
| fredriley (Nottingham, UK) | Posted: Apr 15, 2011 - 03:35 Yer man looks like the Brit actor Keith Allen (father of Lily) who often plays dodgy/hard man parts, such as his cameo in Shallow Grave. Which is a lot more interesting than this song, which is aural sedative |

| Happy_Monday | Posted: Nov 08, 2010 - 16:19 Gotta see this band at the Gorge... 30,000 people for 3 days all for the same group.. Waaaay to much fun. too bad they're not touring in 2011... ![]() |
| drews (London, Blighty) | Posted: Sep 06, 2010 - 04:22 Prefer Dave Mathews solo, or just playing with his mate Tim Reynolds, rather than with all those others in that band of his, which sounds too bombastic and noodly for me |

When did dm go solo and release a Christian song??? How did I miss this? Christian song? I don't think Dave intended this song to be of religious reverence. Many amazing writers that ponder the profound meaning of life, use words and contexts to convey their spirituality... and on a different side note, I love Dave for everything he is. True that the new stuff will never come close to Crash, etc... the reason I choose to hold on to the old stuff and never let go... |
| jkhandy (Near the ocean (in my mind)) | Posted: Jun 02, 2010 - 11:03 Like most of Dave's stuff, and this one is no exception. Thanks RP! |
| horstman (Syracuse, New York) | Posted: Aug 22, 2009 - 17:11 When Dave first hit the scene with "Under the table and dreaming" and "Crash", I was a serious listener (and lover) of his music. They actually came to Syracuse (and have come several times after- likes this place, wonder why?) and I attended and loved the show. But his later albums have left me wanting more and not getting it. He has lost his spark that his earlier works evoked (at least for me). Oh well, at least he did it for a while. Synopsis? Loved his early stuff, his later stuff is pretty much getting up and putting on the same clothes. Not much going on anymore. Hence my 1 rating. Don't hate the guy, just don't see much to love anymore. |

| i4niblind (Vancouver, BC) | Posted: Dec 12, 2008 - 13:39 it's the same phenomenon that accompanies U2, Coldplay and any other band who is at one time or another labeled "the biggest band in the world"... so haters, take it easy and chill out and people easily offended by the haters, take it easy and chill out as well. Enjoy the music and let the age old debate continue. There are very very few sonic transmissions from RP that are not pleasurable. |

Agree. This album is fantastic, varied and nothing like traditional DMB stuff. |
