Cold, cold water surrounds me now
And all I've got is your hand
Lord, can you hear me now?
Lord, can you hear me now?
Lord, can you hear me now?
Or am I lost?
Love one's daughter
Allow me that
And I can't let go of your hand
Lord, can you hear me now?
Lord, can you hear me now?
Lord, can you hear me now?
Or am I lost?
Cold, cold water surrounds me now
And all I've got is your hand
Lord, can you hear me?
Lord, can you hear me now?
Lord, can you hear me?
Or am I lost?
Am I lost with you?
| SophiaCorso (Germany) | Posted: Nov 16, 2012 - 12:34 Love this song! But without Lisa Hannigan it don't will be the same :-( The voices of Damien and Lisa are perfect together. |

not to mention the bit at the very end: "Lord...can you hear me now? can you hear me now? can you hear me now?" (I don't think the Lord has the right cell phone...) |
| GolfRomeo (The Beach, South Carolina) | Posted: Jun 09, 2004 - 10:34 Beautiful and fresh. |

After such a classic aspersion, I might have to dislike this song even if I liked it to begin with. Fortunately, I didn't and I don't. |
| Roto (Seattle, WA) | Posted: Mar 11, 2004 - 15:34 I read a review of his live show that said he did this song with all the lights turned off, then when it came time for him to belt it out they turned the lights on the audience. Weird, but I'd like to see that. I'm ho-hum on this song though. There are about 4 songs on his album that I absolutely love. |
| Shimmer (Bethesda, MD) | Posted: Mar 10, 2004 - 10:20 The feeling of drowning in this song comes straight from Kate Bush's "The Ninth Wave", I think. |

Barfus maximus! Amen. |

I suspect it will work better for me upon further listening. I look forward to it. I agree with your first statement, but I don't know if it will indeed improve for me upon further listening or not. The song is obviously the result of a very concerted effort--I just don't know if the effort paid off. |

| philarktos (Vancouver, BC) | Posted: Oct 25, 2003 - 16:01 Really enjoyed the use of the male chorus: very unique effect. Curious as to what they were singing. Sounded like an extract from a stand alone contemporary composition, certainly not "Gregorian Chant" as Amazon's critic would have it. More than one language for one thing. |
| trancefussion (Chicago, IL) | Posted: Oct 25, 2003 - 15:53 Two beautiful voices. I must say I am quite impressed! |

I love this song. It is excellent, excellent buildup, beautiful lyrics, easy to play on the guitar to your girl too. "And all I've got is your hand" Nice touch. changed my mind on this one. |
