Rock and roll + rock-a-billy. Dave Alvin one of the key members has done much solo work and was a member of the band X. All good stuff.

The drummer and I think one or two other fellas from this band went on to play in a great LA blues act called the Red Devils during the early 90s. The Devils are no more, and in fact the lead singer died of an OD in the late 90s, under suspicious circumstances.

This stuff is really good for its day. Webb Wilder could kick some ass, but I don't believe this music is about kicking ass, really. Maybe driving your pickup down the two-lane at 90 miles an hour drunk off yer ass, but if you had to stop and kick ass, or get yours kicked, you wouldn't be listening to the Blasters, now would you?
