It's hard to listen to a hard, hard heart
Beating close to mine
Pounding up against the stone and steel
Walls that I won't climb
Sometimes a hurt is so deep, deep, deep
You think that you're going to drown
Sometimes all I can do is weep, weep, weep
With all this rain falling down
Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I'm holding on underneath this shroud
Rain
It's hard to know when to give up the fight
Some things you want will just never be right
It's never rained like it has tonight
Before
Now I don't want to beg you, baby
For something maybe you could never give
I'm not looking for the rest of your life
I just want another chance to live
Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I'm holding on underneath this shroud
Rain
Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I'm holding on underneath this shroud
Rain
Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
Well I'm still alive underneath this shroud
Rain
Rain
Rain

If you follow her career, this resembles the Flaming Red sound a bit more. Definitely a unique voice. How can you compare with those women with the trepidation in her tremolo? Her soul is going along for the ride on this one. Breathless emotion and finale. |

Yeah, great poet. Writes great songs, she should let others do the performing. Her voice is really one of THE most irritating things I've ever heard. |

Why would ANYONE risk missing songs like this?? I agree, but want to add this is the best way to keep music you love alive. Seek out bands at smaller venues and you may find it a more pleasing experience. Less pointing the mike out for the audience to sing, less adulation for every gesture, more effort to make it their best performance to date. I have kind of given up on the big venue shows, but still find these newer or smaller shows immensely satisfying. |

| Bat (Austin) | Posted: Jan 26, 2010 - 14:22 Her new CD is released today (1/26/10). I hope to hear some cuts on RP soon. The local newspaper (Austin American Statesman) gave it a sort of lukewarm recommendation. I haven't heard anything from it yet so will hold off before buying - but I probably will eventually. |
