This train that I ride
I am walkin down this track
With tears in my eyes
Tryin to read a letter from my home
If this train run me right
I'll be home tonight
500 miles from my home
I hate that lonesome whistle song
That long train whistlin down
I am walkin down this track
With tears in my eyes
Tryin to read a letter from my home
This train that I ride
A hundred coaches long
Hear the whistle blow a hundred miles
I'm one, Lord I'm two
I hate that lonesome whistle song
That long train whistlin down
This train that I ride
A hundred coaches long
Hear the wistle blow
This train that I ride
If I pawn you my wagon
Pawn you my teeth
If I pawn you my watch and chain
If this train run me right
I'll be home tonight
Five hundred miles
This train that I ride
If you miss the train I'm on
You will know that I am gone
500 miles
I'm one, lord I'm two, three lord I'm four
I hate that lonesome whistle song
That long train whistlin down
If you miss the train I'm on
You will know that I am gone
Five hundred miles
This train that I ride
If you miss the train I'm on

actually, come to think of it, the sound in general kinda reminds me of early 90s dance-pop, a la Color Me Bad or Milli Vanilli. (not a compliment, btw, if you had to ask) Yeah, the drum track is gonna make me wander over to the listener review channel. |

Interesting...just how is a complaint any more "pointless" than praise? Both are valid opinions and feedback on the music here. It makes no sense to post only positive thoughts on the music...that's not feedback, just sycophantic. Finally, the poison pill wasn't for me, it was for the song, which at a 4.4 seems justified. Still a miserable song. |

| KirkBrooks (San Carlos, CA) | Posted: Jun 21, 2004 - 13:12 I have this album. I heard the couple that is Snakefarm on NPR back in '99 and bought the CD. I like the alternative phrasings and rhythms they came up with with for all the old standards on it. I get a kick our of putting it on at a party or the bar and seeing if anyone catches the tunes. |

| ditty (georgetown, tx) | Posted: Jun 08, 2004 - 07:58 I thought it was Madonna singing as well, until I realized this singer was better than M. Love the groove! |

| Machiavelli (San Diego, CA) | Posted: Dec 11, 2003 - 14:24 This is a good song from a great album. If you think you might like traditional folk ballads with an updated trip-hop twist, then I wholeheartedly recommend this band. The old lyrics are dark and familiar, and the new sound is cool and unique. |
