Go see her live if you have a chance. She is fantastic. In fact, she's playing this Friday in Berkeley at the Freight and Salvage.

Twas a great show.  My first time seeing her, but it was apparent that many in the audience had seen quite a few of her Freight & Salvage shows...

The vocals are not that bad but the piano and orchestration is superb!

I am in no way qualified to make an assessment on such matters, but I have to think that the engineer on this recording was masterful at presenting Miss Teng at her finest.  Kudos to the recording crew.

The Beethoven that preceded it was more exciting.

He just got that a couple of years ago, but it is cool.

Tony Banks of Genesis fame has a degree in physics if I recall.

As for Ms. Teng, voice like an angel.

Dang it! Why can't Dr. May help invent FTL so we can get off this miserable rock of a planet!

I'd read about her getting an MBA.  Michigan is a great program.  I cannot think of any other performer of her level with an MBA, or similar degree.  Smart chick.
Her undergrad is in computer science from Stanford.
Am very glad she quit her day job.  Her music is wonderful.

I'm pretty sure she has a masters degree in making my willy pulse.

Sounds to me like a less corn-flaky Tori.  Gonna go to youtube to see if she's into humping piano benches.

Pretty sure she has gone back to the University Of Michigan to get a master's in sustainable housing or something similar, all the while composing and maintaining a touring career. Impressive woman.

Phil Alvin, formerly of the Blasters, has a PhD from UCLA—I think it's in mathematics. Tom Scholz, pretty much the driving force behind the band Boston, has a bachelor's and master's from MIT in Mechanical Engineering. He's also the inventor of the Rockman guitar amplifier.

Actually, the Rockman is an effects box versus an amplifier per se. I own a Rockman and, when I wish, sound just like Tom Scholz. That said, Vienna Teng sounds nothing like Phil Alvin,Tom Scholz, or his fabled Rockman. Jes sayin'...
