![]() Are You Experienced? (1993) [ larger cover art ] |
Yeah!
His guitar slung across his back
His dusty boots, and as his Cadillac,
A-flamin hair just a-blowin' in the wind
Ain't see a bed in so long it's a sin,
He left home when he was seventeen,
The rest of the world he had longed to see-ah
And everybody who knows, boss,
A rolling stone gathers no moss!
Now you'd probably call him a tramp,
But it goes a little deeper than that!
He's a highway chile, yeah!
Now some people say he had a girl back home
Who messed him around and did him pretty wrong
They me tell it kind of hurt him bad
Kinda made him feel pretty sad
I couldn't say what went through his mind
Anyway, he left the world behind-ah
And everybody knows the same old story
In love and war you can't lose with glory
Now you'd probably, uh, call him a tramp, but uh,
I know it goes a little deeper than that
He's a highway chile!
Walk on, brother
Yeah! Whoa, yeah
Walk on down the highway
His old guitar slung across his back
His dusty boots as his Cadillac
Flamin' hair just a-blowin' in the wind
Ain't seen a bed in so long it's a sin
Now you probably call him a tramp,
But I know it goes a little deeper than that!
He's a highway chile!
Walk on brother
Don't let no one stop you
Highway chile
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Highway chile
Rolling stone
Go on down the highway, go ahead on
Highway chile
Yeah, yeah
Highway chile
Yeah, hey
Ow!

Interesting, it was released on the UK version of Smash Hits (but not the US version, according to Wikipedia). I'd always thought it was dug up after 1970, as a B track that didn't make the original cut... |

Jimi was a phreak about perfection, and wouldn't release something until he was darn satisfied with the final cut.I have a slew of albums and CDs, all stuff released after his death. Then you look, Jimi released 3 studio albums, Smash Hits, and Band of Gypsies (the latter which Jimi released only because of a contractual obligation). Then we got Cry of Love, which were songs that were "in the can" when he passed. It's interesting to read about how Jimi would continuously cut new tracks for songs that were "in the can." All Along the Watchtower was one in particular I remember reading about—it was driving folks crazy, to the point that even Noel walked out once because he couldn't take much more of it! Still, Jimi's B movies are still worth listening to, Highway Chile included... |

You remind me of Howard Stern....you show up in way too many places, make comments that are meant to cause an emotional reaction just for the pure sicko factor and you can't be removed because you fly just below the, "Let's get him off this post forum" radar. Insert smart-ass reply HERE: |
