So far away
Curses wild upon you
Hungry and gaining
Porchlight burns so far away
Miles away
Days have gone by and I've barely gone
Safe on the road that speeds from your front door
I can't turn around 'cause I long to be forgiven
It hangs in my hair and the hems of my clothes
I thought in the madness my arms could not hold
I can't tell you why 'cause I long to be forgiven
So far away
Curses wild upon you
Hungry and gaining
Porchlight burns so far away
Miles away
I'm sorry to tread on your patience, my dear
My heart might be willing by this time next year
I can't make you wait 'cause I long to be forgiven
So far away
Curses wild upon you
Hungry and gaining
Porchlight burns so far away

| bindi (North Carolina) | Posted: Aug 05, 2012 - 14:10 Neko's voice. . .so amazing. I expected to be let down at a recent concert, how could she really be that good live. She was. . . .and she was funny - and joked with Kelly Hogan between songs, and kind of got choked up with the little kids that were dancing by the stage. . . It was a great night. I think I love her! Don't evr miss the chance to see her live. |

| lkovathana (Chicago, Illinois) | Posted: Jul 22, 2011 - 23:48 Seems that everything about Neko Case is "borrowed" from somewhere — first the entire melody, and now the album cover. The album cover, I believe, is a concept played out on an episode of "Law and Order — Criminal Intent" where a disturbed dude was trying to impress this master photographer by photographing corpses dressed up and posed. Photoshop got an gratiutous product placement. Of course, the perp slipped over the line and started committing crimes. Enter, NYC's finest ... " musikalia wrote: Disturbing album cover. | neuticle (fog fog fog) | Posted: May 20, 2011 - 17:41 Her cadence and melody remind me of a Pink Floyd song, "Mother" (?) off of the The Wall...anybody hear that.?..Still, got to love her.. |

Each time I hear this melody I wonder what it reminds me of, but I could'nt get it together by myself. That's psychological, I guess, because the association between a band like Pink Floyd and such a pure, cristaline voice seems nearly impossible to me.... |

Reminds me of early Stones... Dead Floweres, Wild Horses... a female version of that. |

| MTL_Robbie (Su'l bord des montagnes, CO) | Posted: Apr 17, 2006 - 15:56 Neko has the most distinctive and unique voice among the wide variety of female (heck male and female) vocalists we can hear on RP. A warm "velvety" quality to it. Just great stuff. Love it. |

I think it is the inflection that brings to mind Mother by PF. The lyrics are different, and the tune is similar but not the same. Nonetheless, I appreciate the comments pointing it out. I was unable to put my finger on it, at first. Interesting. |

Methinks Pink Floyd has very little to be concerned with here. |
