Lloyd Cole has also recorded Cohen's 'Chelsea Hotel' - it's on the tribute album 'I'm Your Fan', along with a great version of 'I Can't Forget' by The Pixies and lots more.

The more you listen to LC, the more you will like him. Now let's hear the title tune, Music in a Foreign Language.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH ! Lloyd Cole !!!

He's practically not aired any more (especially his recent works, though they are at least as interesting as his Commotions & early solo works)... save on RP !!!!! Long life to RP !!! :D

Shakespeare may be a bit much, but decent stuff though. Liked the guy 15 years ago, but haven't heard much recent stuff. This song may take a few listens to grow on me.

How're the crabs this year - in season yet? Is O'brykie's (sp?) still there?

Regardless, this is pretty good stuff. Wouldn't mind hearing more from this guy at all.

Funny thing is... he is amazing in concert! I wasn't really *that* impressed with his vocals 'til I saw him live.... (A great song to hear his voice better and some fun guitar playing is "Undressed". Still not as good as live, but...)

I am so excited he's still around! He is awesome. I haven't heard anything new from him (personally) in about 14 years. Whoa. I'm old.

Yes, that's what it's all about....What's the point of listening to stuff that doesn't make you feel anything interesting?

Not to be a typical elitist musicado, but you really needed to listen to Lloyd starting in about 1987 and work your way forward to this point before you say his vocal style sucks. Start with a song called: Jennifer She Said.

This is great - I had never heard of Lloyd Cole before today, and here I am noticing two of his songs today on RP - Bill played his cover of Leonard Cohen's "Famous Blue Raincoat" earlier today. Makes me want to hear more. :nodhead: I like it when a "hook" reaches out of the music and pulls me in, even though I usually listen to RP while doing other things.
