Even with his injuries, his recordings often sound as if he had 8 or 9 fingers on his left hand.  I like his version of this tune - I'm more used to the version by Louis Armstrong.

Is it just me, or did Django and the bass player get a beat or two off from each other towards the end?

Great song!  This guy was amazing on the old Maccaferri.  There is also an excellent version of this tune by Louis Armstrong & His Orchestra.

The Cab Calloway version is my #1 for this, as he seriously sounded like he'd be glad when you dead.
Django's guitar sounds like it would be cleverly chipper were you to die, you rascal you.
