Down by the sea
I found your hidden treasure
Just you and me,
We overdosed on pleasure
Yonnies in the wind,
We're ruggin' up for winter
Putting out the bins
In cold and windy weather
Down by the docks
Live all the silent sea-ships
Crates are stored on blocks
Where now only the rats live
Sail me down the river
Till we reach the shore
Diving into the center
Eating out the core
Down on the beach
Saluting Captain Benbow
Always out of reach
It's quiet when the tide's low
Climbing up the cliffs
You can see for miles far
The boat that ran adrift
Is sitting on the sandbar
Laughing at the waves
That storm the river mouth
The ice is on the move now
Creeping north and south
Down by the sea
I found your hidden treasure
Just you and me
We over-dosed on pleasure
Listen to your heart
Screamin' at the sky
Can't you feel it tremble?
Don't you wonder why?

If you're curious, pick up "Are You Looking At Me?" — it was released about 5 years ago and it's excellent from end to end. Agreed! I always liked 'Catch a Star' too. |
| fiddler | Posted: Oct 06, 2011 - 06:57 I don't perform with bass, but I have one - and this song was really fun to learn! This and the Police's, 'Walking on the Moon'. Nice! |

This number is the aural equivalent of a Marmite sandwich. Cheese, Fred, add cheese. |
| breakloose (Sydney - Australia) | Posted: Jul 04, 2011 - 01:49 Reminds me of barmy hot nights in Sydney during the 80s! One of the great bands to come out of Australia during that period. |
| jackiebd (Massachusetts) | Posted: Jun 02, 2011 - 10:30 I had forgotten this one. Great to hear it again! Love Men at Work. |
| Hannio (Austin, TX) | Posted: Mar 31, 2011 - 05:49 Always liked this one. |

Amazing. |

| (former member) | Posted: Feb 27, 2011 - 18:06 After all the light, fun, pop songs - there was this. This is what I hoped they'd turn into. Alas. |

Can you suggest me some Hay solo's album? Have a good music!! I was happy to see Colin Hay live a few months ago in VA and he played this song. He's fantastic live! He actually noted this song was rather an afterthought on their first album and written when the band was pretty drunk Anyway, he's sober these days and still making great music. If you like MAW-style I'd highly recommend checking out his solo album "Man at Work" or "Going Somewhere." Both include his excellent version of "Beautiful World," which I see is in rotation here on Radio Paradise! |

| Bridieboo (Halifax, NS) | Posted: Apr 16, 2010 - 17:05 Lovely song altogether. Does a brilliant job at putting you right there by the sea. |
| October | Posted: Feb 13, 2010 - 09:57 My favorite MAW song too. Nice contrast to the "popular" hits, really shows what this band was capable of. Super nice to hear on RP too! |
| FogAudio (St Petersburg, FL) | Posted: Feb 12, 2010 - 12:47 Suh-weet. My favorite MAW song! Nice way to end the week. RP rocks as always. This song has my second favorite bass groove ever. First place goes to Children in Bloom by the Counting Crows (probably a contentious statement to some). |
| DaveInVA (In a hovel in effluent Damnville, VA) | Posted: Feb 12, 2010 - 12:46 I didn't like this at first but its grown on me - good song |
| pmazur | Posted: Feb 12, 2010 - 12:46 I think this is their best song. Very mellow mixing acoustic guitars and sax. |
| iliki | Posted: Feb 12, 2010 - 12:46 This song is moody, atmospheric fabulousness. It's in the regular rotation on my ITunes - but it's always nice to hear it on Paradise! |
| BKardon (Boulder, CO by way of State and Madison) | Posted: Feb 12, 2010 - 12:45 He sure has a great voice. Very commanding. |
| pauleywalnuts (Springfield) | Posted: Feb 12, 2010 - 12:44 I don't think their music has held up over time. Sounds tired and dated to me. |
| (former member) (hotel in Las Vegas) | Posted: Feb 12, 2010 - 12:43 great song... love it... |
| kretinburger (Darwin Australia) | Posted: Dec 11, 2009 - 17:26 Arguably the ``Mens`` best song.Has an extraordinary feel to it and brings many memories back to me in Darwin Australia. Party capital of the world.Well it certainly was in the eighties! |

It was good to hear this since I just got tickets for Ringo this summer, and Colin is playing with them. Should be cool. Turns out it WAS cool. They did some Men at Work songs — probably the big hits. But Colin was great — very personable and he sounded great. |
| killahfunkadelic (Raleigh, NC) | Posted: Nov 10, 2009 - 07:35 sweet! always loved this tune when it came out, thanks Bill for digging up some gems. |
| Nicman612 (Stamford, CT) | Posted: Nov 10, 2009 - 07:34 Great to hear another side of this band (besides the obvious hit song "Down Under"). Very nice song, makes me think how over-looked/underrated they were. I love the atmosphere and slow groove of the song. |
| helgigermany (Germany) | Posted: Nov 10, 2009 - 07:33 Nice! |
