Apparently, you are not concerned with the varieties of what is considered "jazz", and/or are of the belief that there was no music at all until the 1960's - like very many people here seem to believe (i.e.: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, or Led Zeppelin invented everything).  I believe, that, like everything else, there is a lot of in-between.  Very few things are just pure for-or-against, or black & white: there are a lot of grey areas.   Personally, I like this era of jazz, but it's obviously not for everyone.  Anyhow, there are many different types of jazz.

Wow, that was quite a transition from Velile and Safri Duo to this much slower jazz. Not really fair to Mr. Monk I think. Or maybe that just reveals the fact that I'm not a big fan of jazz...

This brings back memories of the early stereo days with stereo demonstration records featuring jazz with vibraphone, bells, and other percussive instruments that really highlighted the stereo effect.

I need to leave the house and go to work.  I hate it when they play such good tunes to make me stay at home longer.  But then again I dont hate that, it keeps me where I would rather be.  Right here!
