I came to the forums for this same reason. I've done some searching and can't find a connection between Toad and Rob Thomas.

I never thought of this band as Christian Rock. In fact, some of their songs seem anti-religion.

It's based on a Monty Python piece called "Rock Notes", which mentions a band by the same name.

The actual "Toad" kinda-sorta "borrowed" it.

Instantly likeable, good enough to make me search out the CD. I caught Glenn Phillips live/unplugged a couple years ago, he's a talented writer to be sure.
