KROQ and the like have squeezed this one to death, although it'll still be really nice to hear every now and then (if I don't hear it for at least 5 years).

Not quite. They released this album and 'Robbin' the Hood' (and maybe some other odds/ends) before their major label debut and had a solid fan base in the southland and in the ska/punk/reggae/surf scene.

I'm not too fond of Sublime. They have a certain appeal, but they're the kind of thing that I'd expect to hear on the local conventional "alternative" radio stations.

I don't know, I just don't get Sublime. Always just sounds like white boys trying to sing reggae or ska. And as I understand it the lead singer was DEAD before they even released their first album. Not that I have anything against dead singers, but it's just kind of weird. Plus sometimes I just find this band rude, crude and childish
